Hi all..just a quick query...I have two first class advance single tickets booked for travel on 22nd November..if I look to amend the bookings (with the £10 per person charge I understand), can the tickets be amended for travel BEFORE the original booked date/time or can amendments be only made for travel AFTER the original booked date and time. Its not clear on the EMR site but does say amendments are possible with payment of the £10 admin fee.

Thanks for any advise

Thanks for the reply.....When I looked at it last night on my bookings, when clicking the amend date/time tab, the calendar that comes up was all blanked out for all dates prior to the 22nd November...are you able to do it online or do you have to call customer services??

It shouldn't be as much as £10; I guess you didn't book with us? If you had, then admin fees would only apply to the entire booking, so £10 would change both tickets.

Train companies typically charge more than us, so I would avoid booking with them in future if you can avoid it. We don't charge a booking fee, so the train tickets from us would cost the same (or maybe even less if we can identify a split saving) and we won't fleece you over admin fees.

In that case you may have to call telesales or do it at a ticket office.

If you bought from us, you would simply do a new booking and refund the original. No issues with dates being greyed out or any other nonsense like that.

Tickets were located through National Rail Enquiries but then transferred to EMR website when purchased..I may have misread the £10 in all honesty

Just to confirm, EMR do indeed charge £10 per ticket:

Hopefully this will be the last time you book with them; I suggest you spread the word!

And yes if the website won't do it, you would have to visit a ticket office (good luck as some EMR ticket offices do not have the best reputation!)

He's referring, as he occasionally does :) , to the RailUK ticketing site (link at the top of the page). It's a rebadged Trainsplit.

Train companies really don't want people to do this, as it can save some serious money!
