Whilst I was cleaning HD05 today I noticed HD06 had what look like seat reservation tickets in the top of the seats on the loco end coach. Is this something TFW has recently introduced as we've never seen it before?
Those are advertising for the buffet car/catering. They do look like reservations and slot into the paper reservation slots.

Speaking of HD05, how is it doing on it's exam? (if anyone knows, of course!)

AFAIK it's planned out on Monday with HD04 taking its place on exam.
Oh brilliant, by chance do you know if there'll be sets available on Tuesday (October 29th), I'm planned on 1W55 and 1V46 in First class to treat myself and I'm hoping for some nice food aboard.. only problem is I'm afraid I'm going to be carted off into a 2 coach 197!

There should be. Long way to go but I would predict w55 being HD06 and v46 being either HD01 or HD03. Theres a planned spare on Canton most of next week so even if there was a shortage elsewhere they'd likely swap into w55/w57 so the odds are good!

Brilliant, thanks.
Though on that note, HD06 seems to have kicked the bucket again, it did successfully swap in for 158835, but is now stuck at Piccadilly due to a train fault, unsure what the fault is, but it seems 158835 is forced to jump back in!

Swap not quite gone to plan. 158835 worked the 06:35 1W13 ex Cardiff as far as Crewe, replaced by 67029+HD06 to get it back on diagram. That worked the Crewe to Piccadilly part of 1W13, failed at Piccadilly and now 158835 is back on the diagram restarting 1V39 back at Crewe.

Just a heads-up that there is an engineering block Crewe - Stockport overnight Monday 28/10 to Thursday 31/10 affecting all lines.
In particular - as far as this thread is concerned - the 2232 Manchester Piccadilly - Shrewsbury is a bus from Stockport to Crewe.
NRE Link
By Diagram, the 67 + Mk 4s which works 1W65 1855 Cardiff - Manchester forms 5K65 2230 Manchester Piccadilly - Crewe CS which runs via Warrington BQ for route retention purposes. However most nights it actually forms 1J76 the 2232 Manchester Piccadilly - Shrewsbury as far as Crewe, where the train is normally restarted as a class 197. Obviously that will not be the case with the engineering block on. It's just a shame that the ECS via Warrington isn't being used as a passenger service, as an alternative to having to leave Manchester much earlier then get a bus from Stockport to Crewe.

The normal working is it heading via Warrington BQ anyway, they just run it from Manchester to Crewe for some reason. Originally it was always 5K65 back to Crewe, as WTT shows. Of course the bus isn't normal, but it's natural with engineering.

It’s only this last week or so gone back again to 5K65
1W23 & 1W65 had both been working
Back to Crewe in passenger service
On 1V66 & 1J76

Yes, but the actual Working Timetable is technically 5K65, but it almost never does.

It hasn’t ran for the last few months as the Loco has been STPd to form 1J76, this is due to the platforms in Piccadilly being closed so the previous hour 197 pair hadn’t split due to capacity. That’s now all finished, so you’ll notice 5K65 will run via Warrington almost every night as booked now.

Does anyone know what the fault with HD06 was?
Loss of power from the DVT end. Potentially jumper cable issues. It's currently en-route back to Crewe under its own power after attention to the jumpers/connectors.

Assuming it'll sit around awaiting repairs, since the set and 67 haven't really done their best recently. HD07 is at Holyhead, 01, 03 and 04 are still out and about. 05 is nearly ready as you've already said, so hopefully that'll all go well.

Sorry, is that 67010 on Set 1
From Saturday night
Ready possible for Monday ?
67010+HD01 planned out on the Cardiff diagram tomorrow, HD03 will then pick up the 8:49 Cardiff to Manchester and the rest of that diagram.

06 is out of service Monday, seems unlikely to return as it was due to stop for exam on Tuesday anyway.

HD01/03/05/07 can cover for the next couple of days and then 04 should return from Wednesday with none of those due to stop this week so they should be able to cover this weeks diagrams.

1W11 & 1W13 both 197s
No sets off Cardiff !
And 1V31 as expected a 197.
Only 1V33 & 1V91 are 67s.
Doesn't look as if HD03 is coming out either, unless there's a last minute swap onto 1W55. This isn't a good sign for me!! HD01 is one of my sets expected tomorrow :frown:

EDIT: HD03's DVT seen on Canton via railcam, it is on w55
