Normally Wigan based GNW E200 5101 is shuttling around Ashton-under-Lyne, according to its blind on route learning.

I have seen a few Diamond liveried E400s on the M60 near Denton recently - presumably they have bought some for their schools contracts ?

Next couple of weeks *should* see come significant movements I was told this morning 8-)
Been told the batch of E400 Hybrids at Stagecoach Yorkshire are to start moving to "what will be Metroline" depots over the coming weeks being exchanged like for like for existing Manchester vehicles, thought to be E400MMCs. Can anyone add any detail?

A few hybrids have arrived at Stockport in recent days. I’m not sure what they have replaced.

I'd imagine either standard e400s or e400mmcs

I’m hopeful as someone that boarded 16810 for it to be taken straight out of service this morning :lol:
Only minor. Door fault apparently but was attended to by the body man and was rapidly sent back out.

Apparently some of Belle Vue’s school contracts have moved over to Diamond early (going to Diamond in January in Tranche 3), because of a driver shortage and they have acquired some of the vehicles previously used on them by Belle Vue.

Thanks. No surprise that Belle Vue drivers are looking to move to new jobs I guess

In September Belle Vue picked up the contract to do the sixth form college buses near me. They've also picked up Flixbus contracts. May be they have enough drivers in the long term, but there's a short term gap. Certainly January is going to be an awkward time to end the schools contracts given other academic contracts will run September to August.

Old-shape diesels E400s would be a non-standard type at Holbrook depot. Currently they run their double deck services with a mixture of MMC diesels and the old-shape hybrids (but no old-shape diesels), so MMCs would make sense if they wanted to standardise.

What is the PVR for Rotalas school contracts?

They may not have any currently however they have used the old style e400s before and recently too

All the ones from Yorkshire are going as far as I know, all sold to TfGM. Most to be placed with Metroline but gather some may end up back with Stagecoach, presumably at Stockport

50 Existing Stagecoach Manchester ones - hence the ongoing fleet shuffle in South Manchester to put them there over the next couple of weeks.
Yes should have been more specific are any current Manchester based vehicles transferring to Metroline apart from the BYDs?

107 E400Hs, a mixture of transfers and loans. Not all buses are currently in Manchester and quite a lot are not currently at the depot they will be under Metroline.
Also to transfer are
52 B9TLs.
20 Scania Omnicity.
23 B5LH.
32 BYDs.

Mistracks are common when machines are swapped - especially when a group of Vehicles are progressively being taken out for refurbishment

This week: Stagecoach Stockport depot has received an influx of 27 Enviro double decks apparently transferred from Ashton, Hyde Road and Sharston. This will enable less buses being moved when Metroline takes over depots from Stagecoach on Tranche Three start date of Sunday 5 Jan 2025

Stockport depot is remaining with Stagecoach but the new all-electric depot has been put back to 2028/29. So the new Electric deckers are being dispersed and Stockport remains hybrid (12xxx) or diesel (10xxx, 19xxx)
They are

ex-Ashton 10590/1/6/7, 12116/7/22/24 (8);

ex-Hyde Road 12112/81/3/6/7/252 (6);

ex-Sharston 10412/28/9/43/5-7/9/50/1,12192, 19562/5 (13).

In total 16 diesels and 11 hybrids (E40H - 12xxx)

Transferred out are 29 Enviros:

to Hyde Rd and Sharston 19239/42/5/8/66/71/327/8/33/4/42/4/5/9/50/1/90/2/400 (20);

to Ashton 19396/403/5/13/7/502/3/9/28 (9).

UPDATE Weds:
Another 11 Enviros transferred to Stockport : 10588/95/8, 12118/21/3 ex- Ashton 12090/108/9 ex-Hyde Road 10424/48 ex-Sharston

Just crunching the numbers on Metroline's fleet.

At the moment (looking at the data on bustimes website - which I know isn't 100%),

Ashton has 85 deckers (+ 4 single deck)
Hyde Road 166 deckers
Sharston 134 deckers
Arriva Wythenshawe has 29 single deck.

Total requirement is therefore around 385 deckers and 33 single deck.

Initial fleet is looking like
107 E400H (I am guessing 63 existing in Manchester + 36 from Yorkshire + 8 from Stagecoach NE)
52 B9TL (currently 16801-52 at Stagecoach)
20 Scania Omnicity (currently 15381-400 at Stagecoach)
15 B5LH from Stagecoach East Scotland
8 B5LH from Stagecoach Tranche 2 ex Oxford ??
32 BYDs from Sharston 84001-32
123 new Wright Ultraliner

Totals 357 deckers
So assumes there will be around 30 of the 110 BZLs for Metroline will be delivered before the beginning of January ? Though I don't think any have been delivered yet ?

There are a load of new E200MMCs delivered and stored at Wigan - am I right in thinking there are 32 of these - so would cover the whole requirement for single deckers ?

If this is right then I presume the other 80 BZLs would replace the B9TLs, Omnicitys and 8 B5LH (which neatly total 80 as well !)

Please feel free to correct me where I have gone wrong !
