I got the job offer in SEP and completed my reed straight away. Also just had my medical done a week and half ago. Start dates for training I was told around March / spring.
Ahhh okay Yh I’ve had no call for a medical just yet did you get a call or email ? And yes my reed screening was done very fast. I gave them a call and they said it would be a while before a medical

Haven’t heard anything from them yet and I got my offer July 8th. But it’s good to hear that they’re moving forwards.

Think you get a medical check once they are ready for you, as it only lasts 6 months from when you get it. It was 5 months for me from medical to starting

I received my contract today via email, all that’s next is to start. After almost months of waiting, the wait is almost over!

I had my medical in early October but got my job offer in August. So I don’t quite know how they work it!

Has anyone had any information regarding the start of night tube CSA placements, a friend of mine passed in June and submitted all his info but has yet to do a medical. It’s been radio silence ever since then

I reached out to ask because I'm in the same boat. There's a huge wait for training spaces for CSA1 so they won't do your screening or medical until they know your start date in case they expire

I am starting my night tube training course early January. Though my application went in December 2022 and the conditional offer was given in October 2023. So it's been a long journey.

Look at those figures and tell me unions are not worth it...
You better hope you get put in a CSA1 station so you get paid HGW as a CSA2 lol

how was the training difficulty? anything to look out for specifically, and did u go with a union and take any insurance on your first day, im waiting for my training date which will probs be beginning of next year, bit nervous about the training
training isn’t hard, if you pay attention and make notes, everything you’re taught will be on your exams, as long as you pay attention you’ll pass, no one in my group failed

Hi members. I tried to find the answer to this question online and in this forum but I’ve been unsuccessful so maybe one of you can help me out. My Flatmate is planning to apply for night tube CSA next time it’s available I’m not sure if the role is CSA1 or CSA2. Does anybody know if LUL accept laser eye surgery for this role as he had it done some years ago. It’s better to find out before applying I suppose. Thank you for your time

Night Tube is CSA 1. Laser eye surgery shouldn't in and of itself pose any problems - your eyesight just has to meet the relevant safety critical standard. This isn't much more onerous than e.g. driving for things like CSA.

I’m september offer and I had my medical 2 weeks ago, but they still said it’s looking likely for a late spring start for us

Just got off the call with TfL, they informed me they are waiting to be given the training dates for March and that those who got the role in early July will be prioritised. In my case, I’ll also have to redo the DBS and drugs test as it will probably be past 6 months by then but they said it will all happen before the start date so it works out well.

When did you have your medical? I was under impression that DBS is valid for a year. But I could be wrong

People who have passed training, how many days/weeks did you get your contract before starting?

They’ve frozen internal staff transfers until march, my managers son said they’ve put his training on hold until march
that won’t have any impact on us though will it? i assume they’ve done that to get more new starters training.

It’s not at all uncommon for training to pause over Christmas and New Year, especially if trainers have accrued too much unused leave. However, it’s hard to say if this will impact new starters, as it depends on what trainers are available - all internal training definitely hasn’t been stopped. Stations trainers don’t necessarily train trains () for example.

yeah i kind of expected training to slow down/cease over the festive period. would that have any impact on new starters who start training in january/february though?
