Pretty noticeable. Also, it would depend on the colour of the diffusers (the plastic likely yellowed over time) in the fixture, which would likely become discoloured at different rates.
I wonder if the kitchen equipment on the ex-Avanti units will be modified during the refurbishment. They are heavier than the kitchens on the rest of the fleet, as they can accommodate more complex cooking. I believe XC's just has a microwave, worktop, refrigerators/storage, hot water provider & hand basin. The ex-Avanti ones can provide chef-cooked meals on board.

Does anyone know sort of of Kitchen provision the Voyagers have? Going by their menu I always assumed it would be just be some sort of combi/multifunction microwave and hot water facilities.

On XC Classic units, the First Class kitchen has a powerful industrial microwave, hand wash basin, storage & refrigeration units. The ex-Avanti units have a more expansive set of facilities including steam ovens. In Standard Class, the XC Classic Voyagers have a vast refrigeration unit & industrial microwave. Obviously on ex-Avanti units, that part of the train is used for bicycle storage and as the Train Manager's Office.
They’re already in use. I believe the general concensus was that the AWC examples will likely be the last to receive overhaul, as they’re in better condition than the native XC fleet.
Was on a XC refurbished voyager yesterday from Basingstoke. The colour scheme is fine but the carpet feels so thin! There’s no way that’s going to last and the arm rests - the paint was starting to scratch off.
Ah the ex Avanti ones! Enjoy these whilst you can before XC get them in for a refurb to their lowly standard and ruin them entirely. Voyagers of any sort are vile but the Avanti ones are at least bearable!
There is more! The First Class galley has a full kitchen facility.

Are XC aware that this exists on their trains as whenever I do first class with them there never seems to be more than a coffee and a biscuit on offer?
Love how some on here have written off the proposed cross-country refurbishment of the voyager fleet before it's even started, providing they haven't contacted everyone's favourite Spanish seat manufacturer and got another job. Lot of ironing boards off the back of a lorry then actually it should be good as the existing seating has definitely had its heyday.

I certainly wouldn't call it a shame. The current interior with its dented, collapsed and tired seats needs to go. You only have to take one look to see how nearly 25 years of heavy daily use has taken its toll with the number of dents and scratches in them now.
Likewise - One thing that makes travelling on the Avanti units more pleasurable is the light, whiter ceilings - gone is the "cigarette effect" central panel. I'm also welcoming the addition - FINALLY - of CCTV to the Cross Country units. They have been a nightmare without them.
On may last point, having travelled in 221114 on Saturday I hadn’t noticed that the centre panel still remains. However, the white ceiling made it look a lot less noticeable and it still overall looked at lot smarter than their native XC brothers.
I get that they may want to wait until more Avanti sets arrive, but let's be honest, with how many service XC cancel, they don't require a full fleet anyway!
