I'm guessing if a 92 was shutdown DIT then the train must be restricted to 75mph then? The magic box reports loss of time in running due to two locos on the train.

With that then I'm going to assume that 028 was gubbed and needed moved to Polmadie for repairs and 043 was sent down in its place to save leaving them short in London. Could also be that 028 was due an exam. Sometimes if 92s are faulty they moved to short runs such as the drawbacks in/out off Euston or put on 5C11/1C11 and 1B26/5B26 just incase of a failure so they are 'relatively' close to Polmadie.Referring back to my post #17,402 (27th Jan), it appears that 92028 was the extra 92 we were waiting for - the stock came in from Wembley with 92023+92014 and left with 92028+92014 (info from RTT). The speed from Wembley (?) to perhaps MKC was a steady 87mph (GPS app on smartphone). On my return journey on Jan 31st, again there were two 92s 92028+92043. No idea why.
Won't there have to be some sort of interlocking within the carriage sets for the power operated doors? Such as if the emergency access is operated (or the power to the same is lost) the brakes will be fully applied. Are you sure? That would imply electropneumatic braking. Nothing in the Edinburgh overrun report that I have read so far, including the diagram on p16, implies that.
Partial cancellation. Service still ran in full from Carstairs.Another cancelation tonight, this time 1M11 from Glasgow. (info seen on twitter/X), a few unhappy chappies.
Still a cancellation and the service ran very short formed so that means Sundays nights northbound will be impacted. read the twitter posts, passengers were still in Glasgow after midnight.Partial cancellation. Service still ran in full from Carstairs.
Were the Glasgow pax bussed - or special trained - to Carstairs to join the train there?Still a cancellation and the service ran very short formed so that means Sundays nights northbound will be impacted. read the twitter posts, passengers were still in Glasgow after midnight.
A twitter post from CS about 1am mentioned taxis to Carstairs for stranded passengers. Were the Glasgow pax bussed - or special trained - to Carstairs to join the train there?
It ran with 1 coach less. Hardly very short formed.Still a cancellation and the service ran very short formed so that means Sundays nights northbound will be impacted. read the twitter posts, passengers were still in Glasgow after midnight.
Don't know how full it was, but dropping a coach off the sleeper is probably a much greater inconvenience than with any other train. It ran with 1 coach less. Hardly very short formed.
Bear in mind its already short formed by 3 due to cracking and maintenance issues and 3 were 'supposedly' shunted off on depot in order for it to run.It ran with 1 coach less. Hardly very short formed.
Thats not surprising in the slightest. No plan B it seems.I was on it, yeah we were taxied to Carstairs. It was all a bit of a shambles tbh, my wife and I arrived at Central at about 22.30 and even then it was obvious the train wasn't going to run.
What impact will it have on Sunday night? We're due back on that one...
Ofcourse 3 were shunted off in a way... you can't just pick 1 coach out the middle like a Hornby set and Remove it. 1 coach removed in total.Bear in mind its already short formed by 3 due to cracking and maintenance issues and 3 were 'supposedly' shunted off on depot in order for it to run.

One of the two services will be very short formed. My guess is the it will be the Lowlander that takes the hit.
So thats now a rake of 11 vice what would normally be 16 if there was no issues. Thats well short, school holidays coming up too. The fleet is in dire straights. Dropping like flies. Bookings will be getting cancelled at this rate.Ofcourse 3 were shunted off in a way... you can't just pick 1 coach out the middle like a Hornby set and Remove it. 1 coach removed in total.
It looks like it's the 92 that's failed ( 92 033 showing on Real Time Trains as being on this ); there's a 1Z99 approaching...Empty stock 3M11 has failed/encountered a blockage at Willesden Junction and has been sitting there for 75 minutes. No idea what’s gone wrong. Local services running on the Fast lines and freight via Gospel Oak
I'm booked on the Fort William run on 11 March, so I wonder how things will be then. Perhaps they can borrow some GWR cars for an interesting rake...!So thats now a rake of 11 vice what would normally be 16 if there was no issues. Thats well short, school holidays coming up too. RTT indicates tonight highlander is formed of only 11 vehicles.
More delays. 1S25 still in Euston, its also blocking in the loco for 1S26.
The passengers booked in that coach can't be expected to stand in other coaches, though...It ran with 1 coach less. Hardly very short formed.
Ooo, yes that would be helpful (for me at least)Any chance this thread could be split into one for service updates and one for changes to the routes/stock/operation?
I'm not sure... wouldn't the two subjects be very closely linked and we'd end up getting things posted on both threads?Any chance this thread could be split into one for service updates and one for changes to the routes/stock/operation?
And where would people most their views on the comfort level of the pillows?I'm not sure... wouldn't the two subjects be very closely linked and we'd end up getting things posted on both threads?
One would be for changes to timetables, stock, product.I'm not sure... wouldn't the two subjects be very closely linked and we'd end up getting things posted on both threads?
Maybe we need a whole separate subforumOne would be for changes to timetables, stock, product.
The other would be for all the delays and breakdowns - service updates.
imo they are quite easy to keep separate, but I’m not sure on forum policy for “I went on it, it was good but the hot water didn’t work” - I would tend toward those being service updates
I wasn’t sure how strictly you separate trip reports from effectively anecdata for a ‘these trains are crap/wonderful debate.Maybe we need a whole separate subforumThen you could have threads for reviews, trip plans, incindents, etc, etc..
That's the first time I've encountered the word "Anecdata". Wonderful! Every day is a school day.I wasn’t sure how strictly you separate trip reports from effectively anecdata for a ‘these trains are crap/wonderful debate.
You're missing the most important stuff: Gen.One would be for changes to timetables, stock, product.

Not sure these are always easy to separate, as for CS in particular a breakdown on one evening could often lead to changes to timetable or train formation the following evening. One would be for changes to timetables, stock, product.
