003 went back last week. Is there much left to do on 001? I'd like to think that the driving cars would be done by now at the very least, the middle cars not so much considering how much later they got sent there.

168001 should have returned a week ago but hasn't. I assume it's nearly ready and will be back at Aylesbury soon.

I didn't realise 168003 is back at Crewe depot receiving work until I saw it a few times at work this week. Has it been back for long/when did it come back? 168001 is still at Crewe depot also with it's refurbishment work going on. Two of the cars are outside in the yard at the moment so you may see them on a passing train.

It's reported on here literally directly above your post that 168003 has returned to Crewe...

My apologies for not looking. Considering two cars are outside of 001 I would imagine they are not working on them at the moment. They have been outside for the last week. Hopefully back out soon.

Are those two cars in the new Chiltern blue livery?
I saw (what I thought was a whole) 168 in Chiltern blue livery outside Arriva traincare yesterday while on the approach to Crewe, so I think so, I may be wrong though. There's definitely something in the new livery visible outside.

Due back next week. Not sure where you had seen it was due last week. 168003 hasn't returned for engine faults.

Fair enough, although that was why it was out of traffic at Aylesbury.

It had an engine fault, but didn't keep it stopped. It was stopped for an audit which identified a need to return to Crewe for some additional work before returning to service. Expected back in around 3 weeks.

That will be back out sometime beginning of February then all being well.

168106 has it's numbers applied on the front and has Chiltern logos applied as well with the blue strip down the side also being added as I speak at Crewe today.

Are there any updates on 168329? I know it's a long job to convert it back but it's been over year now and was wondering how it's coming along?

Saw two Chiltern sets outside on Tuesday (18th). Any ideas 168001, 003 or 106? Thanks.

There is an Aylesbury/Wolverton path + return path in for Thursday. Considering there is a return path, could this be something going to collect 168329?
Interestingly enough, the paths go via EWR too.

Also interesting that it takes a longer route by reversing at Princes Risborough rather than direct from Aylesbury onto EWR, though presumably no Chiltern driver has route knowledge for that.

Link to said paths:

How would you get 'direct from Aylesbury onto EWR'? There's no track!

I didn't realise the Quainton-Steeple Claydon track had been severed already. Looking on Google maps before posting still shows a link to the EWR line.

Does it not run north through Quainton Road and onto the line from there?

No, the line has been lifted north of Quainton Road to facilitate HS2 construction which runs alongside the old freight line alignment between Quainton and Claydon. This has been discussed extensively on various threads on this forum.

It was severed a couple of years ago! Unlike Google maps to be wrong...

Thanks for the clarification, but the dig in bold is just unnecessary. There’s thousands of threads on this forum. I can’t be expected to know all information in every one.
