There is a LSL move Crew HS - Derby Litchurch Lane - Crew HS planned on Thursday 30th January, loco and trailing load. [There are also other moves to LL from/to Kidderminster SVR, from/to Crewe and from/to Carnforth (WCR)- the Crewe suggested elsewhere to be a DRS/Pendo drag]. I gather this activity is in support of the formal press launch of the Rail 200 event which will take place at the site in August.

Rail Advent says it is Sir Nigel making the trip. Interestingly it is doing it on the day whereas the loco from Carnforth (British India Line) is going down tomorrow and coming back on Thursday.

Junction 16 on the M6 tonight coming home from work I saw Royal Scot on Allelys truck on the roundabout. I've been told it's off to storage to join the long line of locomotives that need overhaul.

Surprised it wasn’t overhauled after joining LSL from GA to be honest! Sorry to see it go, hopefully it’s back soon and 90002 keeps going meanwhile.

I suspect he means the steam loco 46100.

Not sure how long the line of locomotives actually is that need overhaul. I think it is only black five 45231 and the Royal Scot 46100. I am sure I read somewhere that "Bittern" was going somewhere for a contract overhaul - possibly the SNG group maybe ? Castle 5029 is anticipated to go into traffic later this year, and then King 6024 will be next. According to this website https://www.theonetoonecollection.co.uk/ 6960 Raveningham Hall is at Margate and the WWW suggest it is owned by JH / LSL. Is it likely to be overhauled ?

Obviously there are some diesels at Margate but I don't expect any of them to emerge to overhauls - 37190 47501 and 55016. Not sure who owns the other black five 45379 in there.

Does anyone have any updates on 89001 or 142003? Both seem to have been completely sidelined. I know the 89 is supposed to be undergoing testing, but it’s been sat in the same place at Crewe for months now. The pacer has been sat in the same place for ages too.

While I’m here can I ask about 37688 too?

Might 142003 be waiting on the other 142 for LSL to be ready?

I'm rather happy 142003 has been moved out to the front rather than being hidden round the back like it used to be.
All these important or powerful historical locomotives then just a bright orange Pacer.

89001 has undergone testing. Last I heard was that it needs certification works (and possibly a few tweaks?) to be completed before it can become mainline operational.

I caught a pair of LSL 20's (20118 & 20107) through Meadowhall yesterday on the return leg of a Crewe-Whitby jaunt. Presumably this was a route knowledge retention run for when the Blue Pullman goes up the Whitby Branch as well as to York?

Further Eastleigh updates courtesy of Carl Watson.

47593 is rubbed down and currently prepped for it's repaint:

57302 has lost it's Dellner box and will emerge similar to 311:

And the work on the rebuilding of Mk1 FO 3091 formerly 'Margarette" is continuing:
Great shots. I might have missed a previous post but in what livery will Galloway Princess appear? I had a soft spot for her large logo blue and it took me back to my 1980s Scottish Rail Rover days.

The livery that it wore in the 1980s immediately after large logo blue...

On no… we don’t want a Porterbrook look-alike.

Shame it didn't also carry a Scottish specific embellishment (stag / Scottie)
Image shows IC liveried 47593 at Eastfield depot

I don't recall any IC-liveried locos carrying a Westie, and since 47593 was an Eastfield loco it wouldn't have carried a stag, only Inverness-based locos had them. I'm sure it will retain its snowploughs for that Scottish look.

47637 IC red stripe, Scotrail brand, westie logo, shown here.

Inverness stag adorned IC-Scotrail examples were certainly the more common sights in my Rail Rovers of 1988 & 1990.
