805002805 move return hitachi got rescheduled today, anyone hv idea? Thanks
Thanks805002
What’s the purpose of the unit heading down south previously and return to hitachi? Thanks805002
That's a double unit (805 009/011 according to RTT).I'm on a faulty 1D84, was 23L leaving Euston and lost even more time up to Milton Keynes, so now 30L. Just been announced we are being terminated short at Crewe - fine for me but a few unhappy passengers for Chester and beyond!
These 805s seem to have issues very often!
Yes, it's a double. But they've announced it's fully cancelled at Crewe so the next working isn't impacted by the delay. That's a double unit (805 009/011 according to RTT).
You'd expect at least one unit to reach Chester.
What do you then do with faulty unit? Leave at Crewe? Who is going to move it? Is there a driver there to move it or shunt it somewhere? That's a double unit (805 009/011 according to RTT).

Could be both carry on back south, looking at timings it lost 30 minutes on it's first run at Crewe which is where they change power, didn't loose any further time on either trip so could be an issue with the power changeover and they don't want to risk it failing when it changes at CreweWhat do you then do with faulty unit? Also 1A24 HHD-EUS 10 car train 805003 + 805006 was terminated at MKC southbound. " Fault with the train". Seemed to have spent 45 minutes at Crewe southbound. The return working 1D87 started from Milton Keynes and seems to be a scheduled to arrive in Chester on time, so it looks like the trains are still running ok.Could be both carry on back south, looking at timings it lost 30 minutes on it's first run at Crewe which is where they change power, didn't loose any further time on either trip so could be an issue with the power changeover and they don't want to risk it failing when it changes at Crewe
Let's face it, the systems redesign of the class 805 trains means they are currently working through the bathtub curve of reliability. It sounds like the only thing in common with the previous series is the body shell. And with the 221's having been quickly dispatched back to the Rosco, North Wales customers are going to get used to using TFW services for some time to come. Also 1A24 HHD-EUS 10 car train 805003 + 805006 was terminated at MKC southbound. Seems to be a bad day for Avanti North Wales route.
Apparently 1A26 (not 1A24) fault was door interlock fault at Crewe. Also 1A24 HHD-EUS 10 car train 805003 + 805006 was terminated at MKC southbound. " Fault with the train". 805002 returned to hitachiAny news on 805002, 807009 and 807010?
Yes, I’m aware. But I don’t know why it’s returned to Hitachi. I’m assuming service prep after testing…805002 returned to hitachi
I find the onboard ambience hugely bland and sterile compared to Pendolinos. I also dislike the very bright lighting, Black-country Tanya Rich announcements and the hard thin First Class seats. I’m personally glad my local route of Manchester is an all-Pendolino zone. Some shots from Liverpool, they do look like nice trains from outside:

807009 was in Wembley yard this morningAny news on 805002, 807009 and 807010?
it’s in the post production modification tent.Yes, I’m aware. But I don’t know why it’s returned to Hitachi. I’m assuming service prep after testing…
From what people have been saying, smoother track on the southern West Coast Main Line. The ride seems better than on other 80x I've been on before. Revisions to the design or just smoother track on the southern WCML?
I can't help but notice in the photo how "tilted up at the front" the bottom parts of the seats are - it's like they're at a right angle of the backs of the seats rather than being flat. Yet, for some reason, when I actually tried out an 805 and 807, I didn't notice that. They do have bigger windows and much better legroom in standard though than the 390s.
Oh, okay. I’m guessing there’s some issue with it or it’s awaiting final prep ready to enter service after testing.it’s in the post production modification tent.
I was there today - even took a trip to Runcorn and back - lovely trainSome shots from Liverpool, they do look like nice trains from outside:

The 390 seats are the same, notice it when first sitting down. From what people have been saying, smoother track on the southern West Coast Main Line.

807009 was delivered, but not sure when it is entering service and 807010 is set to be revealed fairly soon.805002 returned to hitachi
I believe a software update has been applied (To 805s at least) to the Train Management System that now sets the default speed limit to 110 & introduces a Driver Advisory System. However.... ( you can guess where this is going)... The DAS is complete pants & is going to require a lot more work before its useable. Thus the MU speeds remain, as ever, a distant vision.Aren't Avanti funding it, and Network rail implementing it? Didn't ORR throw a spanner in the works requiring TASS or some sort of safety case / procedure to prevent overspeeding? It appears some bridge resonance issues are resolved allowing 110mph at the upper end of the Trent Valley, but all the new signage continues to remain bagged over. An 807 driver I spoke to seemed to be in the dark saying driver training on the new limits has not commenced yet.
