Scotrail Inter-available Stations

I have a new regular journey to make, either from Cathcart or King's Park stations to Glasgow Central. With a season ticket are these inter-available origins / destinations?

I could swear I have previously seen a document listing inter-available stations / flows in Scotland on the forum, but can't find it now.

Any help appreciated

My immediate thought is that a Kings Park ticket is valid via Cathcart - our ticket site confirms this.

Yes of course it is, but there is a difference in price for tickets from Central to Kings Park / Central to Cathcart.

Which I suspect is why the OP is asking, so they could considering buying a season ticket to Cathcart (which is slightly cheaper) but use Kings Park when it suits.

I suspect it's not permitted. I don't recall seeing these two stations on the interavailable list.

Williamwood and Clarkston were the only two stations I recall as being interavailable in the greater Glasgow area.

I would get a ticket to Kings Park, as it is the more expensive.

Trains from Kings Park to Glasgow Central do not travel via Cathcart. When you say our site, do you mean the forum site?

I assume you have to buy the more expensive season ticket.
That was my assumption as well, but it is not a very authoritative. Also interested in the King's Park/Cathcart adjacent stations only being to/from Crosshill. I assume this is because travel via Langside the other way round the circle would fail fares check, with Langside being slightly more expensive than Cathcart, but only on some fares. Doubt anyone would care though.

What is Muirend / Shawlands about? Is that an error - should it be Muirend / Langside? Shawlands is miles from Muirend and several closer stations.

Surprised Muirend / Giffnock isn't permitted too as a lot of people using that at the moment with EK closure.

I recall the Muirend / Shawlands thing coming up in the forum before, and yes it looks like an error and should be Langside.

Muirend / Giffnock kind of implied by Giffnock / Williamwood, as you could just leave a stop earlier at Muirend?

It is not a super accurate document. Cumbernauld / Greenfaulds are not on adjacent lines. Would expect Coatbridge Central / Sunnyside to be included. Greenock West should be paired with Drumfrochar? But others are covered by actual ticket destinations e.g. Helensburgh Central or Upper as a destination.

Is any of the document covered by actual easements?

Just one, I think:

700784 Holders of tickets from Kyle of Lochalsh to either Glasgow or Edinburgh, may join Scotrail only operated trains at Mallaig. They will need to make their own arrangements to travel between Kyle of Lochalsh and Mallaig, as railway tickets are not valid on bus and ferry connections between the two locations. This manual easement will not operate in online journey planning systems.
This was added as a direct result of a complaint I made to Scotrail a few years ago.

Possibly but then no need for Clarkston/Williamwood to be repeated too.

No, but a journey between each station and Glasgow Central is valid via the other because the diverted route is no more than 3 miles further than the shortest one, and because there's no "easement" which says otherwise.
