Thanks all!

@Iskra that Thompson BTK looks fabulous and Bachmann's recent tooling is superb.
A mid 1960s scene, with cascaded stock to the ScR, it looks fine.

A few Bulleid Third Opens were sent to Scotland in the 1960s and, painted maroon, operated on secondary services.
RM Web has a thread on it and mentions the actual carriages involved.
That's good to know, thank you! If a Maroon Bullied comes up at the right price in the future, then you never know...

OTo my knowledge, a maroon one has not been produced RTR in the main scales.
Bachmann's old tooled Bulleid carriages, whilst not up to the modern standards, are a good candidate for DIY respray into maroon.
I believe there are some due out maybe next year from Bachmann in Maroon. I've seen a W/W numbered (Comp Corr 10" vents) and E/S numbered ones (Second Open 15" vents) listed.

Yeah it must have been pre-orders for these that I’d seen judging by the prices.

Yes, they are the new tooling as well, and yes, somewhat pricey! The alternative at the moment though is the Comet brass kits (which are probably about the same price, but more work!) but for the Bulleids they do offer pretty much every diagram you might ever desire.. (I have my eye on a couple for the future simply because they don't exist in RTR for the coach sets I want).

I've just picked up a class 68 (68026 "Enterprise" in TransPennine Express livery) from Rails Of Sheffield for just under £100 ... It is a bargain!
It is an amazing model!

I convinced myself that I should definitely buy the last blue and grey mk1 SO that Dapol had in their sale the other night. I felt that this was a very important decision to make after three glasses of a rather nice Merlot. ;)

Lovely stuff... but is the setting for those photos an indication that you're running out of space for trains indoors?

Definitely. It will eventually run outdoors, but I’ve got a bit of work to do first

Excellent effort. The SO and the Merlot. :D
That shot of the McRat at the head: if you snipped it and put it onto a real photo of Oban or West Highland lines, I for one would be fooled. Sublime stuff. 8-)

Agreed. Just change the background and nobody would know... ;)
