Sunderland Docks - When was it last used and could it be used more?

Anyone know the last time Sunderland Docks branch was used? Any chance of it being used more frequently?

Not sure about the docks proper, but Grand Central often run down the line towards Hendon Beach for training purposes

That’s interesting. Do you know how far down they travel as last time I was there I believe there was a couple of crossings?

The most recent photo I can find online is of a scrap working from Ward Bros at Hendon at the end of February this year.

There's a photo online showing a 180 as far along as the access gate to the port/docks complex itself - a little way south of the site of the Welcome Tavern. Though it's attached to an article that requires a subscription.
