Chorleys destination screen was suffering from 'technical issues' and has been working on and off the last few days after a couple of weeks of inactivity, it was certainly up to speed today

I've been off the threads for a while - do the new Lakes Scanias have uprated gearboxes as previously discussed? To perk them up a bit.

Good question! I have no idea lol.

Also have some friends visiting from Colchester, went for a walk through centre of town just to show them what's what and he saw a Scania on he 40 and said "Wow you have well nice buses up here, Colchester is like the dumping ground for s**t buses!"

Funny thing is he's not a bus spotter or anything, so that's a win for Stagecoach!!!

I'd say 18354 and 18355 will stay at ME as they have vinyl wraps and the rest will go to preston.

I imagine they will get repaints anyway and won't stay wrapped so we'll see!

Also where's the 10 Trident from KL? Think it's 18357 that's missing so maybe gone to CE for paint?

When & where have 33203 & 33204 disappeared ?

Last reported by Mbonwick on 12 May 2011, see below.

33204 now up for storage at Morecambe. Parked next to 33203.

Sold to Fleetlink during August (Period 4).
Other disposals out of group during that period were 14266, 16353, 20901, 34048 and 40327 (all to Wigleys)

No. One driver had to kick one of them back down into 1st because he lost power on a mini roundabout, then it went flying straight back up into 2nd, so he just stuck with it, not looking pleased. I saw the first 6 off Keswick today (0930, 1025, 1125, 1225, 1325 and 1425) and only 2 of them were in Keswick on time to leave on their timetabled departure time. 2 of them departed Keswick 15 minutes late. Passenger loadings weren't anything special either, in fact, I'd say there was less passengers on them today than a few weeks ago when I last saw Tridents on.

Ex-33203 is now in service with GHA Coaches of Wrexham.

Do you need a ladder to get up to the back seat?

My guessing will be 18357 will have been over night at Barrow on the 735 witch needs a tacho bus that the scania's haven't got.

I've got 18357 noted down as having it's tacho removed, unless I've noted the number wrong. When I was in central lakes back in summer, quite a few had their tacho's removed and plated over, 18356 still had the tacho unit there, but had black plastic covers over the card slots. 18354's tacho was in with no covers over the card slots.

Could cause a few problems with the lack of tacho'd stuff then...perhaps time for a route registration split?

A few answers to recent questions

33203 and 33204 are both with the GHA Group.

15728 was the first one off Lancaster

18357 is staying at Kendal the rest are all going to Preston, replacing Volvo Olympians

no need for a route split, drivers do not work across Kendal

Looks like 14196 will be soldiering on for a while then!

Are we talking about the 555 or 735 here? I'm aware that 555 doesn't need tachos because of drivers changing at Kendal but I'm not so sure about the 735...

The 555 I'll take it from that you meant the 735, which is why 18357 is staying and it will be a quick job to lob a tacho in the Leyland replacements, which will be heading north quite soon

Mmmmm interesting! So will these Leyland replacements also displace 18357?

Also is ME not getting any Tridents at all so far a sign of things to come...?

Josh, 18357 is staying to run route 735 which requires a tacho.
It means that over winter there'll be a spare Scania as well (6 on 555, 2 on 530/1 and a spare).
Over summer all 9 Scanias plus 18357 will be in use on the 555.

Morecambe not getting Tridents does make me think something may be in the pipeline.
Although, 14196 may be being replaced by 16874....

Thinking about it logically (which you should never do with Stagecoach, logic seems to be the first thing to go out of the window most of the time):
9 Tridents to Preston = 9 Volvo Olympians out.
8 Leylands at Kendal to replace + 1 Leyland at Morecambe.
16874 would be a good one for Morecambe, to match 16877. Send the 8 N reg's (16327/8, 16330, 16392, 16706/8/9/11) to Kendal (3 of which are already tacho'd, or were last I knew. 16327/8 and 16392), but if Kendal are needing long ones, both of Preston's P reg's are/were tacho'd. Used to see them on the old X7 and the X8 quite a few times, as well as appearances on X61.

Sounds logical, didn't KL turn down short Olys? Would be nice to have some more Olys at KL, even if they are N regs lol.

Very obvious from that statement that said Cllr Riches has never been to Lancaster Bus Station.

Interested to here why would it be in our interest to stump up a donation?

Being turned off will save me an awful lot of faxes to correct incorrect information, which still does not get corrected

99% of passengers just ask me anyway

What the bus station needs is a mini radio station! :D Any volunteers for the position of DJ with the "News of the Queues"?

15 years ago the town where I lived installed the fancy bus stops with radio signals on the buses and "Live Running Information Screens" at each bus stop. It was a brave new world of technology - and it never bloomin' worked!:)
