Do you need a ladder to get up to the back seat?

About the same as the MAN ones up here.

Not the best of pictures, but it was only taken to show the extra grille's added to the back of 24116 and 24121 (I think the other is 24121).
No luxury of side windows on the back row, not too nice, especially when you're on one with the offside grille rattling away, gets extremely annoying after only a small part of your journey.

20918 done the 14:35 302 to Maryport, from Workington. It must have replaced a Scania somewhere between Workington and Whitehaven, I think it could have been 15685. It was definitely a Scania when it went to Whitehaven on time, but 20918 came back.
Workington Megarider adverts on 20918 say the price is £9.50, but it is £9. All other buses say £9.

Seems to have been a fun day for the buses.
30/31 saw 16447 (replaced in afternoon by 22596), 16734, 20473, 20945, 22108, mini Dart 34218 and 35249, rather than the standard 1 Oly and 12 MANs.
22600 and 22608 (replaced mid afternoon by 15683, probably at the depot on return to Workington, as it was late running to Carlisle) on 300's.

Has 17023 had a repaint since it arrived at Morecambe? I think it was one of the couple of tridents that didn't have branding for the 2/2a so i wondered if it had ever been done. The back of it looks really scruffy.

It's looked poor for a while but I noticed how bad the rear end looks today as well when it was working the 2a.

Also has ME increased its short 3s PVR to cope with overcrowding issues? 16664 and 21007 were both on short 3s at some point today with at least one E300.

34679 expected to arrive at Carlisle this evening. Hopefully won't be long at all until it is out in service. Shame it is just the one coming, could do with a few of them to stop mini Darts needing to go on city routes.

You will need more then a few of them to stop that happening! This is to make the 38 low floor from what I understand meaning you will still get the regular 2-3 MPD's out on Citi's.

The grills were done inhouse at Carlisle to try and combat overheating over the summer. It was done at a time when there were regularly 3 off at anyone time.

Here she is at her new home.

Also some good pictures of it departing Chorley Depot for the last time and pit stopping at Tebay, credit to Gregg Collins.

Got told today by a driver that 16351 is a beast and goes like s**t off a shovel. Haven't had a ride on it yet but it was on short 3s this morning.

Also told that SC are running 27 buses between Lancaster and the Uni between 8 and 9 every morning to cope with demand. I believe the number of students living in town has gone way up this year so there's only so much you can do!

Also here's a strange one, apparently ME have put in for Scania E400s for the 2/2a. I think the chap who told me may have just meant standard ADL E400s as I'm not sure th 2/2a needs Scans. In anycase thought I'de throw it out there :)

Considering Stagecoach is the main operator in Lancaster, I don't think it would dent their profits to either make a donation or sponsor the Display Screens in Lancaster Bus Station.

Dallamlad, it would make a lot of sense that SC did have responsibility of electronic Departure Boards as they are the main Bus Operator in Lancashire.

Agreed and I hope that County Council officers are giving SC the opportunity to take over the running of them. I suppose it all comes down to whether it is financially viable for SC to pay for the screens.

May not be worth the hassle - I seem to remember reading somewhere (?) that the disability people keep complaining at the lack of real-time info and stand changes(eg. when a service is delayed), and saying that it doesn't meet DDA legislation unless this is done.

This was a while ago mind and personally I'm rather skeptical...

Commenting on the news, County Cllr Sam Riches told Bay News "This is a dreadful decision. We need to be encouraging people to use public transport and these displays are very important for making this easy and convenient for people. Surely, providing easy-to-read information about when your next bus is leaving and from which bay is a basic requirement of a decent system."

Perhaps it would be in Stagecoach's interest to stump up a donation?
Very obvious from that statement that said Cllr Riches has never been to Lancaster Bus Station.

Interested to here why would it be in our interest to stump up a donation?

Being turned off will save me an awful lot of faxes to correct incorrect information, which still does not get corrected

99% of passengers just ask me anyway

One of the main problems here is when there are two or more buses that are timetabled to depart from the same stand at the same time.
i.e at 15.20 there are three buses (55 Silverdale, 55A The Kellets, & 555 Keswick) timetabled to depart from stand 15.

20451 & 20960 are now the regulars on the Sainsbury's contract. 52629 is getting a bit too unreliable and 20977 is rarely let out of Carlisle Centre.

Im told all 9 Scanias will be launced in Kendal bus station tommorow with them going into service on Saturday?

3 Man's on the 300 by this evening. 22608/11 and one other. Those Scanias are getting worse.

In Carlisle paintshop at present is 47007 from Lillyhall, 34679 from CHorley before it starts it's new life at Carlisle. Enviro 24124 is the 2nd to be repainted with Versa 25238 (IIRC) and Morecambe ALX300 22818 which is also under refurbishment.

A bit of late news from Carlisle is that 34709 has been refurbished.

Mini Dart 34218 replaced 20473 on extra X5's this afternoon.
22104 been on full length X4-X50, replaced on 14:15 by 53336. 22104 was late running obviously, got back in at 14:20 (timetabled in 14:07). All others were in on time.

nice pics on flickr, wonder where the KL tridents are going when all the scanias are in service.

I've heard it's nearly certain that most of the Tridents will go to Preston and ME may get 1 or 2 as well. But, as ever, we'll only know 100% once it's happened lol.
