Wandered past to get a couple of grainy shots of the Santa specials and noticed this boiler in the Haworth yard, just wondering which loco it is from. Cheers.

There are actually two Taff Vale 0-6-2T's in existance.

There's also a Class 01, No 28.

It was restored to steam by the Caerphilly Railway Soc (now based at the Gwilli Railway) about 30 years ago.

It went to the Dean Forest when the CRS moved to the Gwilli and by then needed major work done.

Which never happened due to a lack of funds.

Apparently the Llangollen Railway is interested in it at the moment.

This is most likely because it is the only remaining 'Main Line' Welsh built loco in existance.

It was built at the West Yard works of the TVR in 1897, in now what's called Cardiff Bay.

No 85 on the KWVR was built by Kitsons of Leeds.

I hope the budget goes as far as the full TVR livery shown on the picture of 28 rather than the plain black it has been in.
