There are no seasons to Boundary Zone locations AFAIAA.

If you hold a season Travelcard covering Z1-6, then you require a Maidenhead-Z56 season (7DS £52.90) to be able to travel on a fast train.

Alternatively, if you're using Day Travelcards or are happy to be limited to stoppers, you could use a Maidenhead-West Drayton season (7DS £36.30). Combined with a Day Travelcard, you may travel on a fast train as per NRCoC 19(c); with a season Travelcard you must travel on trains which stop at West Drayton with this combination.

Correct, no seasons from outside boundary zones to boundary zones. Nearest is normally to zones 5-6.

NRCoC 19(c) may have a limited remaining shelf-life.

Just so I'm sure I understand this, Maidenhead to Boundary Zone 6 is valid

via Slough (to or passing through West Drayton)
and
via Reading (to or passing through Feltham)
and
via Slough and Windsor (to or passing through Feltham)

is that right?

Permitted routes are not defined anywhere for travel to the london zones, e.g.boundary zone 6.

In the absence of a routeing on the ticket (bz tickets to Reading are routed either Slough or Ascot, for example), I'd say that travel direct to Paddington is fine, fairly obviously, but I would think you're likely to run into trouble with either of the other routes you mention.

Those routes probably feature in the restriction text because the same restriction applies to other tickets which would be valid via Feltham for instance.

Although there are no season tickets to Boundary Zone 6, there are tickets available which may meet the needs of someone who asks for a season ticket to Boundary Zone 6.

For example, assume a passenger needs to travel for a week between Maidenhead and Cambridge, but also wants the flexibility provided by a Travelcard within Zones 1-6.

The price of the appropriate weekly season ticket is calculated:
  • Take the price of a Maidenhead - London Zones 1-6 weekly Travelcard,
  • Add the price of a Cambridge - London Zones 1-6 weekly Travelcard, then
  • Subtract the price of an in-boundary London Zones 1-6 weekly Travelcard.
The ticket is issued on Travelcard stock from Maidenhead to Cambridge route AAA London Zones 1-6, where AAA means "Also Available At".
