…so did the Salop Castle turn (216 miles one way !) end in 1961/2 ? (and always beautifully turned out ! )… & did Crewe to L’pool electric go live in 1962.

Not necessary back in the day, most grounds only had one stand (seating area) the rest being terraced, & home and away fans changed ends at half-time to be behind their teams attacking goal…passing one another on the way round !
…alternative facilities are available in The Empire, The Ranelagh Tavern, Coopers, The Globe, The Midland, The Central, Lannigans, The Irish House, Nelly Foleys & The Blob Shop, all easily within 2 minutes.
