My suggestions would be., only do what you’re trained to do (i.e. you’re not a doctor), don’t be afraid to challenge unsafe situations (even if a more experienced person says something)., I’m sure there’s more, just can’t remember what they asked now..
It was 12 weeks lodging away from home in classroom setting, maybe basic traction.. after that you move to home depot to do (I assume), routes and handling hours
A lovely 4 hour drive on a Sunday night for you., make sure you use your full dinner allowance everyday! £25 worth of maccy Ds a day and you’ll soon look like a proper driver.
2 years productive mainline now, but we regularly go down to the maritime to cover etc
Eastleigh driver here.. i would hope.. given they've just refurbished all things FL at Eastleigh, and your location being Eastleigh.. that they may try and make use of the meeting room they now have there..
there are going to be a good deal of vacancies at Eastleigh by year end, so hopefully...
Potentially a stupid question.. however.. should one already have passed the level 3 train driver apprenticeship elsewhere, does this make you ineligible? I have applied regardless as you never know what’s happening internally..
I once said I was tired to the person training me.. I had to submit my hours worked in my second job and be monitored for fatigue for 4 months.. ultimately management didn't care, it was more of a tool to emphasise the importance of avoiding fatigue. My second job pays £21 on a Sunday and £45...

woking-specific - 7 new ones just finished/finishing training including myself.. I'm leaving to go drive, and there's a number retiring soon, so there is the potential for some vacancies to arise.. but I personally wouldn't expect much movement for several months.. await the intro of 701s
Looks like it.. i had to turn down Southampton with an august start date as we have a newborn early September., so pleased I didn’t have to wait that long!
