It's just a bit of lazy journalism. 'Trigger's Broom' used to be William the Conquerer's broom when I was a lad. In any case, things ger renewed from time to time on most things. Perhaps Flying Scotsman should be known as 'Bruce's Broom'.

Everyone that I know still refers to the 'Gas Board', 'Electricity Board' and 'Water Board'. I never heard anyone say that they had been to Cardiff on an Arriva Train. They just went by train.
