I would seek out the train guard as soon as possible and make them aware of your worries. These trains are rarely empty even late at night so you will have plenty of other law abiding passengers around you for reassurance.

Happened to me twice now at Woking with a change from platform 4 to 5 for the Portsmouth service just as it's coming into the station. No announcement either.

There were trolly services on my Aberdeen to Inverness and Wick to Inverness trains at the weekend with the latter having seat reservations on.

Just used the Sunday night Inverness to Euston sleeper and it was a bit mixed. At Havant the other day I saw one little brat try and vault the barriers and ended up with his right foot trapped at the top. It was so funny watching the station staff having a good old chuckle for a minute before, of course, having to open the barriers and let it leave.

Last claim I put in for with GWR was rejected, I appealed and miraculously it was accepted. Makes you wonder if they reject many other claims to try and put people off appealing. Wouldn't put it passed them.

Could have been a few passengers on the train with very tight connections at their next stop that will be very pleased the guard didn't wait. It's up to the passengers to make sure they get to their station on time. We all want trains to run to time, it's how things will run smoothly for passengers.
