When did you make the claim? I made a claim to cross country delay repay a month ago on the 9th of December and I'm still waiting for a reply from them.
Wouldn't be as fast as a direct line but it's probably a better, easier and cheaper solution if there was sufficient demand between exeter and dorchester
Instead of building a complete new line. I think if any project of the sort took place it would more likely just be a curve put in it at Yeovil junction leading onto the Dorchester line.
It would result in direct services between Weymouth and Exeter, just not a quick as a new line between...
I can't see the line out of waterloo been electrified with OHL for a good long time yet. Especially when there are still main lines without any sort of electrification. Plus most OHL electric schemes at the moment are usually been reduced or abandoned such as MML north of Kettering.

https://www.minsterfm.com/news/local/2356774/new-early-york-to-london-train-planned-for-december/
Saw it coming into leeds todaywith 1V58 to Plymouth. Didn't really get chance to see the VT power car as my train departed just as it was coming in next to me and as it was on the rear.
They managed to get the unit back into york so the issue can't have been too bad. Although this was quite good as it was cancelled whist on the 2 track section to the north of york and there were 2 or 3 services getting caught behind it and catching it up
1A68 running the 15:29 grand central service from Sunderland to London Kings Cross running with 180112 has just been cancelled just north of york after a 40 minutes delay. The unit was then brought into platform 8 at York.
Anyone know why 1A68 has been cancelled and what will be done with it...
