If only BR had wired Leeds - Colton junction....
17:00 London Kings Cross to Edinburgh due 21:18 will be diverted between Doncaster and York.
It will call additionally at Wakefield Westgate and Leeds.
It will be delayed due to the diversion and is expected to be 733 minutes late.
This is due to damage to the overhead electric wires.
Additional Information:
We are sorry for the inconvenience this has caused you today.
Remember back in December at Northallerton
1E19 pulled wires down on up fast
185 reported all good from up slow
320 pulled wires down on the up slow...
TPE have been denied any paths between York and Doncaster due to limited SLW capacity and with very limited route knowledge for both staff and the traction there's no diversionary routes available. XC have at least the diversionary knowledge so they can still operate not calling Doncaster. Best advice is XC YRK-SHF for EMT/TPE to SPT and MAN or LDS-MCV via Calder valley. bussing via HUD should be avoided if possible
Certain trains have been standing for 4 hours (apparently) - absolute nightmare scenario.
Has 1s24 (http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y60532/2017/08/06/advanced) broken-down or is it being held by the signallers at signal 849?
I understand the Up Highland Chieftain has been diverted via Wakefield Westgate & Leeds, with a few forum members on it who are heading for York.
I wonder if any attempt has been made to provide some sort of food to the passengers on those trains? Many of them will have been carrying people through when the passengers on board would have been expecting to be at their destination and having an evening meal!
