Some of the 319s will be gone to Northern, and i think the rest may be going for that flex programme. The 387s, and increasing number of 700s will probably displace all 319s by the end of the year. But I don't work for GTR, so take whatever I say with a grain if salt.
The first time I went on a Javelin I certainly was. Also being used to the underground and buses, when I was a bit younger I was wondering why the train door wouldn't open when it atopped at the station.

Found this a while ago, and remembered it now. Apparently energy conservation is a lot to do with slower accelaration and braking. Makes sense to me.
That's probably because they clean them and they're electrics running with electrics. Long distance trains, trains in diesel operating fields, and trains which cannot be cleaned frequently (particulary in the mentioned areas) should not have light colours.
Weren't FCC's stock notoriously dirty?
Which is exactly why we need dark colours on vulnerable areas on trains. These stupid white colour schemes that are coming around aren't helping. It's like when they put bright yellow on the top area near the exhaust on the HSTs.
Depends on the size of the company doesn't it. They'll spend a while checking out the engine and surrounding area for faults and such, and that will certainly slow it down. It's a good thing this isn't a public funded affair, as we all know what happened to the one in my signature...
With an energy crisis apparently looming over our heads, so much that we trust the Chinese to build a remote control nuclear power station, this will certainly be a key question worth asking.
