Oh dear, he's upset quite a few people it seems!

'If you put your name to an article you have to take responsibility for it. Train fans are no different to any other section of society, except we’re always good for a cheap laugh and sneer by so called profesional journalists. How many pubs, clubs and bars experienced a handbags at dawn moment and a bit of lairy behaviour last weekend? Where is your article on them with the landlord having to defend himself in a national newspaper?

To take rail enthusiasts money from your column in Rail and to humiliate them with such cheap tabloid journalism should make you ashamed. I hope Rail sack you for that very reason.'

Mr Wolmar is attending a public meeting about transport in Greater Bristol tomorrow night.

Why don't you ask him afterwards what he thinks?

Well according to the Daily Mail & Star - it's a drunken free for all on railtours , violence , lewdness - shocking and appalling

The Peak Army was apparently a front for the National Front

That Tabloid rubbish hasn't gone down well !

Whilst I understand YOUR indignation (which incidentally I share) at this 'sensationalist' type of 'journalism' (and I use the word loosely here), you have got to admit anyone not familiar with this forum, on reading some of the posts that appear, would be hard put to fail to give credence to what Woolmar is suggesting.

The mediocraty, niaivity, childishness, homophobia and total indifference to the 'rule of authority' often dispayed here would leave the average, unbiased, reader TOTALLY perplexed.

I think that at least the homophobia part of your post is gibber, no offence intended.

just sarcasm and irony from me : must have been a slow news day - Christian Woolmar is always being trotted out in the "media" - he's good on Railway politics and privatization but he's well known for getting other things wrong .

there is a very small minority of SagaLager - Club 40 -60 ( whether that's the number of pints they bring on the trains , age their waistsize or IQ is debatable ) that give Railtours a bad name .

Must be a form of regression therapy that's been prescribed for some sad individuals , it's not the 80's anymore !

Me and the brother go first class on railtours and distance ourselves from this upper sixth form or upper fifth clique mentality

What I don't understand is why havent they gone to the well know 'Bathspacentral'?

The guy who looks like a twonk getting horns and abuses other spotters by threatining to beat them up, such victims include me :@:@:@
Yet they choose these guys instead...

James.

Maybes Christian Woolmar should look at those so-called enthusiasts Like Deltic Matt and his 2Teg crew ;)
That will give him something to write about as we are not like them one bit...

The Daily Star is quite frankly a disgraceful excuse for "journalism"

I see no facts in the article itself!

You think wolmar would be smart enough to know who to not speak to about the railway worlds issues and he says he is in trouble like it's a whoops situation.
Stupid fool really.
personally It wasn't his situation to handle in the first place the man has nothing to do with the interest's of us rail fans.

God, all the local papers have now latched onto this now. Pathetic.
