There's 3tph between Enfield Town and Liverpool Street running all night new years eve with the following stopping pattern:
Rectory Road, Stoke Newington, Stamford Hill, Seven Sisters, Bruce Grove, White Hart Lane, Silver Street, Edmonton Green, Bush Hill Park & Enfield Time. Not sure why Hackney isn't being served? Engineering works maybe? But good news!

Where else will be getting a night service on NYE? (Other than the LUL)

More frequent than during the day!
But in recent years, SWML services have run to Twickenham, Guildford and Basingstoke, I think GWML to Reading, probably Shenfield. I'm sure if you look you can find last year's thread on the subject and I imagine it won't have changed much, except Southern will probably have nothing.

Think there's a lot more engineering work this year! I know there isn't a TFL rail service all night this year for example, due to the blockade of the GEML

Three Bridges to Bedford

Not this year as the core is closed

Looking at RTT it appears to be an half hourly St Pancras - St Albans stoppers throughout the night (last Bedford is 01:14)

In the south it is a London Bridge - Sutton service (half hourly) with the last one towards Croydon being 00:40

Half hourly stoppers from Victoria to Croydon as well

Last services from Kings Cross to:
- Cambridge: 1C90 (0220 KGX - CBG, via. HFN, arr. 0337)
- Welwyn Garden City: 2P66 (0234 KGX - PBO, arr. 0410hrs)
- Letchworth: 2F84 (0226 KGX - LET, via. HFN, arr. 0335hrs)
- Peterborough: 2P66 (0234 KGX - PBO, via. WGC, arr. 0410hrs)
- Hertford North: 2F84 (0226 KGX - LET, via. HFN, arr. 0335hrs.))

Also quite a few ECS workings related thereto. Also:
- 1C90 runs non-stop FPK - SVG: I can't help wondering why it doesn't take the more direct route past WGC instead of running via. Hertford loop if it is running non-stop.

- Hertford North (HFN) and Welwyn Garden City (WGC) have a few terminating journeys each in addition to the above journeys.

Timetables for the above on RealTimeTrains: http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/search/advanced/KGX/2018/01/01/0000-2359?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt

NYE being a Sunday could be ‘interesting’ this year.

Indeed! Christmas Eve too, maybe even more so... Going by the OP, I presume Sundays are in the week on London Overground...?

(PS, I blame you for starting the following discussion! ;) Run away before it gets ugly! :D)

Why aren't they running in both directions?

The only reason I could think of is that the TOC wouldn't want passengers waiting at some of those stations for trains into London because they're suffering higher levels of crime? Or maybe lack of demand

Probably they have worked out that by running fast they save a few minutes and would need less units and/or drivers to run the service. The number of people going into London at that time would be pretty minimal anyway.

Having checked out the workings, the only advantage is that there is a set sat in LBG virtually continually. Might allow someone to have their PNB (if it's still called that), or allow early boarding for people needing to sit down (let the reader understand...).
But the key traffic flow is out of London, and on the South Eastern all the workings are similarly outbound only. I've not checked anywhere else.

But might allow some people who have missed their stop to get back. Also the driver doesn't have to check trains for these sorts of people before running ECS back to London.

Portsmouth gets a later service on a Sunday anyway. 0.50 Mondays only. So in some respects the people of Portsmouth will be able to see the new year in, in London, whereas usually they wouldn't be able to as the last train is before midnight! Same goes for Haslemere, Petersfield and Havant.

Whether they'd want to be in London for the new year is another matter!

I think Guildford to Woking would be popular but they run ECS.

Any station with trains running in one direction, bar the terminus, will have people waiting at the station.

North London Line is uneven all night, but there is a frequent Stratford-Clapham/Richmond service all night

In previous years there has been all night hourly services from London Waterloo to Guildford but I see this year, after the 1:05 departure leaves, there will be nothing as all the services are terminating at Woking instead of Guildford. 0:30 seems to be the only stopper running to Guildford.

Anyone know the reason for the change? Do not enough people live in Guildford who want to visit London vers those in Woking? Even Byfleet and New Haw gets a service after 1:05 when Guildford doesn't.

The last train to Portsmouth on a Sunday night is usually the 0:50 and that never had all night trains anyway but on that Sunday it's the 23:30.

Are there engineering works?

I am aware there is a strike on but the revised timetables havn't been released yet.

The last train back from Woking to Guildford is only 34 minutes later than usual for a week night and in a Sunday night, only 16 minutes later.
