First have specified moquette on recent refurbs in the West as in the Mendip B7RLEs and also on older fleet. As well as Kernow, the Bristol P&R also had similar with eLeather headrests and moquette seats.

If you do that with black or grey leather/e-leather and a dark colour of moquette in my view that both looks really classy and is quite practical (because it's hair grease that is the main cause of mucky high-backed seats). It even manages to make the very high density layout of the new East Anglia Aventras look good.

Further to the above comment Aberdeens B10BLEs are being re-trimmed in the same style moquette they were new in back in 2001. Much better than some leather.

On the current beach ball livery the red at the rear gets very worn and dirty fairly quickly. Further to that the application of the livery is often quite cheap and nasty, Panels not lining up and sharp edges on what should be a smooth curve. Just look at anything painted at Inverness, they're famed for their terrible application of the livery.

Quite a good example of that here.

Oh dear! :o Don't they have curves in Scotland!?

Aberdeen don't have any B10BLEs....do you mean the MAN ALX300s that are being rotated in and out of reserve?

Inverness' legendary bad livery was due to using local paint contractors that (politely) were useless. Painting is now in house, mostly over at Bluebird I believe so should be miles better.

Was poster referring to First Aberdeen B10BLEs?

Hull used to have "Frequento" branding on most of its buses and an orange "Humber Fastcat" livery, though I think the former may have been phased out.

Were nearly at the end of the year and the thread started back in February. I take it the idea has been thrown in the bin? or there is no branding crisis at Stagecoach?

The article said “Like many companies we continue to look at our brand and how we engage with our customers and staff. Just to be clear, there's nothing at this stage that has come out of anything we've looked at which indicates that we are going to have a new livery or brand.”

I take it, it was some jobsworth just looking to see if there is a branding crisis then? Maybe the audit highlighted the fact the number of "regional and unique liveries now carried by its vehicles" isnt as bad as first thoughts?

It may be worth saying that a certain Bob Montgomery left his post in between the initial post and today ...

Well there's been some pretty big changes to corporate branding policy as a result of this review, they've just stopped short of a rebrand (as the statements said they would...)

If they could make sure repaints are done with curves instead of 45 degree angles (cough cough Inverness cough cough) it would help :P

How often do Stagecoach re-upholster buses? I'm sure the 08/58/09 regd E400s Stagecoach Manchester have not been re-upholstered since new. Mind you, they were never as comfortable as ALX400 seats.

Sorry to bump an old thread, but (after a few days touring the north east of England), I noticed that some of the Sunderland E300 "gas" buses are in corporate Stagecoach livery.

However the Newcastle E400Hs that I noticed are still in the green "hybrid" livery (they may have repainted some, but I didn't notice any hiding in plain sight amongst the other "beachball" E400s) - whilst Sheffield's Holbrook depot has been painting our E400Hs into regular Stagecoach colours (albeit some are still in green for now).

Have any other local liveries come to an end recently?

Hull now uses "Simplibus" branding on many of it's buses after renumbering of routes in 2015 and the orange "Humber Fastcat" livery is now on a second generation, and the "Humber Flyer" is in a deep blue livery.

All the E350Hs in Aberdeen (29001 - 29010, 29020, 29021 & 29022) are still in their Hybrid liveries (Not had a repaint since they came out the factory). But some of Perths if not all have been put in to beachball. Although they carried Gold livery rather than Hybrid.

Is this still on the cards, I have heard something might be afoot. ( Before you ask, I know GW will be knocking on that door ;) some depots are looking for member of staff to go to some sort of meeting or event to promote something about new designs,

Steven Knight Media reported a few weeks ago that a rebrand was still on the cards, and that they were looking into it.

Has anyone heard anything about what the new identity might be like and when it might actually come about?

Devon has a veritable feast of liveries, multiple Hop varieties. All of the different P&R, Falcon, Gold and so on. (I quite like the Hop12" one personally)

Arguably Megabus are in dire need of a refresh, i wish within Scotland on the satire routes they'd ditch the Megabus brand in favour of Scottish Citylink.
