Two things in particular to note from the T&Cs...

* Group Travel needs to be booked and paid for at least seven days before you travel. For groups of over 100 people, we need four weeks notice.
...and...
* You can buy Group Travel tickets for a maximum group size of 27 people at any of our staffed stations. For larger groups, contact our Group Travel team.

Do any of the adults have a railcard (either a Network Railcard or a Family & Friends Railcard)?

The price to beat is the Off Peak Day Return which costs £33.20 for an adult and £16.60 for a child. Total for the group £232.40

Up to 4 adults and 4 children can travel on a Network or F&F Railcard and benefit from the railcard price. The railcard discounted price if £21.90 for an adult and £6.30 for a child.

If the group has access to 2 railcards then 2 adults and 8 children could travel and benefit from the railcard discounted prices. You'd need to purchase normal rate child tickets for the other 2 children. This would cost a total of £127.40.

Note that this assumes that the guides are all under 16. You'd need to factor int he cost of railcards (usually £30 each) if these aren't already held.

It would be interesting to see how this compares to a Group Travel quote from SWR.
