Hi there,
I have an advance ticket from Glasgow Queen Street to London via Edinburgh.
I actually booked to Finsbury Park from where I intended to travel to my final destination by tube (zone 2 via zone 1).
The site I used actually sold me a ticket from GLQ to London Underground Zones 1&2.
The intinery is
GLQ to Waverley
Waverley to Stevenage
Stevenage to Finsbury Park (on a Brighton service).

Am I correct in assuming that I can stay on the Brighton service to Farringdon and change there to the tube (this would be very convenient) and travel to my tube destination without using Oyster?

Also, is there any reason I couldn't stay on the LNER service to King's Cross and change to the tube there as the ticket is to London UZ12?
I am thinking that although the ticket/reservation is to Stevenage is it not possible to do the rest of the journey on any train (ie just stay on the one I'm on?)
Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't think your ticket is valid on Thameslink to Farringdon as it is not a London Terminal station, but I can't see why it wouldn't be valid to continue to King's Cross on LNER and then take the tube from there.

Thanks for the replies.
Does anybody know for sure if I would be able to stay on the LNER service to King's Cross and take the tube from there?
Again, the ticket is to UZ12 but the reservation (it's an advance ticket) is only to Stevenage.

It's advisable to stick to your itinerary, unless delays occur.

You can take any "appropriate" train for the "connection" part of your ticket, however this does not normally include reserveable trains. An exemption for Stevenage - London does exist though, so on this occasion you should be OK.

Next time, I recommend ensuring you are issued with an appropriate itinerary that meets your requirements. Some websites may not give you a choice, so I recommend using one that does.

Are you sure? I think the actual rule is that tickets valid between Finsbury Park and King's Cross on National Rail are valid to Highbury & Islington, Moorgate and Old Street only on London Underground, and explicitly not at intermediate stations such as Farringdon.

Yes, quite sure; the Thameslink 'core' is a also an inter-available route; @Leisurefirst is asking if they can use a Thameslink service to get to Farringdon, rather than an LU service.

This is fine as the ticket is to Zone U12 London. It wouldn't be valid if the ticket was to London Terminals.
