The issue with the Panther LEs (i've likely mentioned this before) is you have the running costs and maintenance of a 15 metre long coach, yet the capacity of a Plaxton Profile! Not very viable if you ask me, so it's no surprise interest on them has been low, certainly at Stagecoach North Scotland i can't see any routes where they'd be suitable.

East Scotland seems to like them, surly the running cost can't be that different especially since there are no loos? Of course we have never found out which Stagecoach company down south were supposed to get other 9 before pulling out.

There is rumours up north that local bus operator MW nicoll of laurencekirk is too close its doors on the 11th October with stagecoach may gets some of the journeys they operate.
This came through the VOSA within the past hour

FIFE SCOTTISH OMNIBUSES LTD
Route: Laurencekirk, Farquhar Street to Montrose railway station
Service number: S009 (9)
Service type: Normal Stopping
Effective date: 12 Oct 2019

Looks as if they will run the service until 4th January 2020 where the council will decide who'll take it on for the long term

Does that mean it could also win the 30 journeys?

Don't know. All i know is Smith and sons coaches has got the 104, 29 and mon-fri 9 which are aberdeenshire council journeys. Maybe local independent operators (i.e. wisharts/smith and son coaches) may get the rest of MW nicoll services which are angus council journeys.

What was announced?

The company is moving ahead with trails to operate driverless buses, however the route picked means there have to operate over the new bridge... What a complete waste.

The Park n rides are now operating at full capacity more days, Halbeath especially from 10am, which now put Stagecoach in a bit of a pickle because it boosted the Daytimes services but If people can't park there can't travel.... So the buses are now empty.

Its claimed its because more people are using the P&R to jet off on holiday, yet somehow i doubt that as its been like this for a month, and Thomas cook went bust etc and still the demand is high. I think its actually believe it's much busier with day traffic.

The council is planning on building an extra 71 spaces, at Halbeath between now and xmas. However I doubt that will be enough and there may be better off planning for even more spaces to be built. There was talk of Rosyth Park n ride for 300 spaces but X55 can't deal with all that certain times unless there was major revision. Maybe its time to get new peak bus service linking up to park n riders?

Its been noted there is another cap park down at the Ferrytoll, who does it belong it.

I don't follow Stagecoach wheelings and dealings as much as I do Lothian, however I have noticed the X60 using local deckers (E400 MMCs) over longer distance coaches. Is this a new change? I have read back a bit on this topic but can't see anything, except talk about the odd decker on summer runs.

X60 the deckers tended to operate are the short Kirkcaldy - Edinburgh journeys. I believe there is one lined up to operate two return trip before doing a school run- if you notice there is no 15.40 trip Kirk - Edin.

Of course there has been high demand and especially during Evening peaks deckers are required. Deckers also appear on the X27s.

Thank you. I did notice them saying Kirkcaldy and not St Andrews on the front but I just assumed it was on a scrolling screen.

It just say still being retendered? So the link isn't helpful?

Timetables are up on traveline, so stagecoach has got all 30 journeys at the weekend (although traveline says smith and sons has also got the 30 journeys on sunday). as a result, preserved 275298 returns to service
Stagecoach has been awarded the B5 angus school run (formerly MW nicoll)

Has 22572 been diverted to Perth rather than heading to St. Andrews?

Also why do Perth feel the need to keep on bringing those god awful E300s (27599 and 27600) out of reserve. Surely they can use something else...

27599 at StA in lieu of 22572

Probably because they have nothing else suitable/serviceable.

Next Friday, Saturday and Sunday East Scotland will have Black Friday sale. East Scotland Day Rider will be just a Fiver:

Black Friday Weekend: Travel for a Fiver!
Where will you go with your £5 dayrider? Aberdeen? Glasgow? Edinburgh? The moon?
Okay, maybe we can't take you to the moon, but you CAN travel anywhere our buses go within East Scotland with our £5 Black Friday dayrider offer between Friday 29 November and Sunday 1 December. That's a saving of £11 off the normal ticket price!

Here are our eleven suggestions for how you can spend that bonus £11...
  1. Head to Livingston on service X51, and grab a cinema ticket from Vue. After the film is done you can crack on with your Christmas shopping!
  2. Visit Edinburgh Christmas Market on one of our Express services and grab yourself a gluhwein or a mulled cider and enjoy a few of the many fairground rides.
  3. Discover Arbroath using service X7 and enjoy a Jammie Dodger scone and a festive hot chocolate at Vin-Tealicious before exploring the boutiques and shops at Westport Village.
  4. Zoom to Dundee on service X7, X26 or any of our local services and stock up on socks at Primark (£2 for a pack of 3) or maybe even invest in a novelty Christmas jumper
  5. Visit Stonehaven on service X7 and enjoy some of the tasty Christmas specials at the Old Pier Coffee House (£9.50, includes soup and baguette/toastie).
  6. Take a trip to Perth and make a splash at the Perth Leisure Pool - there's even a heated outdoor pool area for the brave! Express services X56 and X7 serve Perth, as do many of our local services.
  7. Visit Dunfermline on service X55, X24, X26, X27 or one of our local services and explore small independent shops hidden along the high street and the Historic Quarter.
  8. St Andrews is full of festive surprises - why not drop in past Toppings & Co and pick up a new book to read? Services 99, X24 and local services can get you there!
  9. Take an Express coach to Glasgow, buy 5 Krispy Kreme donuts (£2.20 each) and share them with your mates
  10. If your Christmas shopping is already done and dusted, head to Cupar on service X54 and visit the Scottish Deer Centre.
  11. Climb on an X7 and explore Aberdeen's Christmas offering - including a magical market and loads of shops!
Plan your journey now with our amazingly useful Journey Planner below, which sadly did not get a festive makeover.

Yeah, save £11 on the Dayrider - spend a fortune in the places they recommend you visit. They're not advertising those places for nothing, I bet :)

Not the best days for this kind of offer. I hope that they have duplicates lined up for some routes like the X7 and X51.
