Seems to be a lot of Mk3 coaches looking forlorn at Crown Point too.
The loco hauled fleet seems to have become somewhat chaotic again, after a few months of improvement. Almost every train is short-formed, at least one has first class vehicles mixed into the standard class section and at least one other has no buffet. The air-conditioning is notably lacking in some vehicles. And still trains are cancelled due to a train fault.
I can conclude only that there are so many coaches out of traffic with faults or awaiting exam that they have had to make a rake up by pinching a coach from most of the others.
Seems a real struggle to keep the service running at the moment. I guess all of the work at Crown Point and it being stuff with Stadlers has reduced capacity to keep on top of breakdown and emergent work on the old stock.
One wonders if we might see a rake of Mk2s hired in from one of the charter operations if the 745 introduction is delayed much longer.
