What does that mean:Was wondering about this earlier , does anyone know anyone that has not left their town or City ?
Well, I know quite a few people who never lived in a town|city & never left their place of birth. Farmers? Was wondering about this earlier , does anyone know anyone that has not left their town or City ?
On the flip side of that my Mum grew up in Fife and some of her childhood friends have never been out of Fife - why they’d subject themselves to the misery of that I don’t know.I know a woman who has never left the county of Yorkshire in her entire life.
And why would you I suppose
I have heard of people in MK who had never been to London, though it's quite rare these days.
What does that mean:
lived away?
been away on holiday?
ever been outside the town/city boundary?

Is known in Cambridge too. Go further away from London (e.g. to Bolton), and there are quite sizeable chunks of the population who've never been to London.
I've never left my hometown, then again I'm still a teenager!
As much as I'd love to, I don't see myself leaving for at least another ten years. I simply don't have the money, and won't for quite some time.
Certainly here in Scotland loads who have not been to London. Or even England.
The opposite applies I'm sure. I recall that when I had a day off work, I mentioned to my colleagues that I was going to Edinburgh, to which one replied "I've been to Scotland once", which amused me as its somewhere I have been known to go twice in a week! Same colleague told me they were taking him mum to London for a weekend once "as she'd never been before". It goes to show how some people live in a small world and travel very little.
When I lived in the Portsmouth area I met locals who boasted that they've never been to London. North of the south Downs was considered an extraordinary journey, and I think some of them even suffered altitude sickness if they ventured over Portsdown Hill. Some of them had been overseas though, (IoW I think).Out of town or not out their local area.
I know countless people who've only ever lived in one village / town / city, including many family members. It's quite common.
Being Welsh and living away you get used to people saying things like "I went to Cardiff once and liked it" and them being surprised when you say you've never been to anywhere in South Wales.
(Not entirely true, I've been to Newport for the day but only left the station to have a cigarette - on a First Great Western assessment day)
Well, I've lived in Scotland for 15 years now and I've never been to Skye or the Western Isles so you're not doing too bad.Places in Scotland ive never been to . Like Isle of Skye , only seen Loch Ness last year . Only been to a few islands , but i do want to go to them , even though theres not a compelling reason to.

I don't know why but I was thinking you lived in England so I was saying that you'd have done not too bad to see as much of Scotland as you have compared to myself.Ive been to neither.
Surely its not much on the train somewhere. Ten years in same town , i have some respect for that.
