Is there a reason why they only have usb ports and no power sockets and also why the carriages have letters. The one I was on yesterday started at Coach B! One good feature is that the kept the end luggage racks from their GEX time.
Given the amount of track renewals that go on, I'm surprised it would be that old.The crumbling 1930s PDL electrical equipment strikes again!
I'm surprised more trains didn't have thier stops removed or terminated short, given the delays this morning. Not aware of any stops being removed from Portsmouth Direct line trains into London.1G18 lost 4 between Liss and Liphook not to mention 2 each at the SDO stations. It then sat for 9 extra at Guildford presumably while they decided which way it should go?
1P20 appears to have lost time all over the place. Notably 4 each approaching Petersfield and Liphook.
Fratton SDO stops seem down to 2 mins now. Fratton regulars are fairly good so that will now be due to large numbers of people joining the train through the rear door of carriage 5 then walking back.
There is a peak period power reduction in place between Liphook and Petersfield in both directions in addition to the power reduction at Haslemere to Witley on the up.
I thought 2 + 2 was the whole point of bringing the 442s back. And they make 10!
0545 Poole to Waterloo cancelled this morning due to a “problem at the depot”.
Will try 1700 or 1715 off Waterloo tonight. Are they/will they be fitted with Dellner couplings
I'm actually surprised that they've managed to ramp up to half the fleet being in service straight after the hiatus. Two were berthed last night in the down carriage sidings underneath Portsmouth and southsea station
Surprised all 18 are not in traffic by now do we know the final full fleet diagrams?
Shame 6 are languishing

No Dellner couplings. Just to be aware, the cancellation is on the 1715 diagram. Quite possible will be Desiro tonight. However, the 1700 and 1730 should both be 442s.
I was on one the other day and there was a staff announcement for the "fitter to come to the centre of the train." No discernible issues, and the train was on time - but do they actually have fitters on board at the moment? The travelling fitter overslept...

Thanks. Are there specific issues/potential failures SWR are worried about? Will there come a point where the units have proved themselves sufficiently to warrant not needing fitters onboard? They are all running with travelling fitters.
It's normal for fitters to be on new stock for quite a while after it's been introduced. I know these aren't new, but the same presumably applies.Thanks. Was this a requirement when they were new, under BR? I don't recall ever seeing it. Might be wrong. The requirements for two drivers is also causing issues during disruption as the driver and second driver don't stay together (as 2 drivers are not required over all infrastructure) therefore sets end up without the required crew if attempting to turn them in service short of their destination.
but as that then means drivers are hoping about the moment there is disruption the drivers are separated and even more delays ensue.
