In that those who are very outgoing and like being around a lot of people will be finding it very hard, whilst those who like time to themselves may be doing better (although they could also be struggling if they can't get away from other people in that they are at home more).

That's a good point. I've had a few people say "aren't you going stir crazy on your own"? No, not really, I'm actually being quite sociable electronically, both via things like forums and via video chats. I'd far rather that than be tripping over someone else. If I'd been living with my parents (or my former housemate) for this it's near-certain there would have been many, many arguments.

There's nothing to stop pubs instituting similar conditions to restaurants. Many of them operate partially as restaurants anyway.

Indeed so, my point about pubs was more that "vertical drinking" won't be able to return for a while. It may be possible for some pubs to reopen with spaced-out tables, reservations only and table service, but some will consider that non-viable. That sort of thing will work better for country pubs than 'Spoons, even though the latter has larger pubs and table service via the app.

As it happens the day that the government ordered pubs to close, my favourite local had reconfigured it's layout to allow for more distancing. This kind of thinking could allow at least some businesses to restart sooner rather than later, and get some urgently needed revenue flowing back to the Treasury. Because believe me, tax revenue is going to be very urgently needed very soon if we don't want to end up with either disastrous debts, or hyper-inflation resulting in a loaf of bread costing a wheelbarrow full of notes.... (May include slight exaggeration)

On the flip side, some people who live alone who really are finding this really difficult. Everybody is different, and has unique challenges.

My kids might be a royal pain in the arse trying to get work done, but I'm lucky to have them around.

I'm in same situation as you. Really glad that for example I'm not living with hyperactive kids or people that I don't get on with. I'm now using video chats (something that I never thought I would use) and am making contact with people I've not spoken to for ages!

I believe antibody will be available for the general public in about a month or so

Surely they won’t hand out antibody tests to the general public until we are a long way down the curve? It would very quickly collapse lockdown restrictions - there are too many people not bothering already, if they know they are immune they are going to insist on doing whatever they like.
I would hope they are done in strict priority
NHS
Emergency services
Essential workers
Key workers
Expand the list of jobs

I doubt they will ever "hand them out" but there's little that can be done to stop companies selling them.
Don’t they have to be licenced, and you could strongly encourage them being banned on the usual websites?

Have the premier League footballers agreed to a pay cut yet?

It might be legal for the likes of Spuds to put their non playing staff on furlong so the taxpayer picks up 80% of their wages, but to continue paying the millionaire players who earn more in a week than the average person earns in a year is morally wrong in my eyes.

Why? Who is going to judge which companies are morally allowed to furlough? Writing those guidelines would be a nice can of worms!
The clubs could furlough the players if the season was voided

The Premier League have just requested they take a 30% cut. The Premier League will also give £125m to the EFL and National League, plus £20m to the NHS.

Will the virus get weaker through time and be less damaging to people. I only hope so because this is killing too many nice people even younger ones.

Nobody quite knows, but viruses do tend to evolve in that way because a virus that kills its host or makes them severely ill (so stay home) doesn't spread as well as one that doesn't.

So this is the reason for the lockdown then? Also the closing of shops and places where people go out to eat.

It'll be interesting to see what effect warmer temperatures will have on the virus, seeing as most strains of flu tend to be far more prevalent in winter and tend to die out by the summer.

I hope so the weather will help get rid of this dreadful virus that seem to come out of nowhere and affected the world. I think everyone has now had enough of it. I have been lucky in one way I suppose being able to self isolate from February, only going out for food since then.

It is not flu. It is spreading in hotter countries and the southern hemisphere as well as here. People need to stay at home.

Very impressive expert at the press conference. Where have they been hiding Professor Van Tam?

Also good to hear the health secretary say staying at home was not a suggestion it was an instruction.
