More than just one for 807s, surely? No, first class in end carriage, then remaining standard.
My bad, half of one carriage, then the end carriage with the kitchen/galleyMore than just one for 807s, surely?
They've got a larger galley than the 805s too, so that they can give the Pendolino catering offer. My bad, half of one carriage, then the end carriage with the kitchen/galley
One of them was 805007.Asked this on the TOPS requests earlier, but does anyone know which 805s were the double operating 5Q61 1231 Preston to Stoke-on-Trent.
Plain white livery, unfortunately the numbers were too small (And obscured by plants) for me to see.

Saw them at Crewe and Wigan yesterday - the other one was 805006 (as you note, both white)One of them was 805007.
If its a white pair, it will always be 805006/805007 (the unsold pair Hitachi use for testing). The only unbranded unit Avanti has is 805002Asked this on the TOPS requests earlier, but does anyone know which 805s were the double operating 5Q61 1231 Preston to Stoke-on-Trent.

Hello, does anyone know when the Avanti class 805s and 807s will enter service?
Thank you very much!805s should be later this Spring or early Summer I think. The 807s are further behind.
Thank you very much!
They really need yellow fronts if the dark blue front bit is that long. Very indistinct and undramatic. Here are 805 009 at Euston on 15th April and 805 005 there on 29th April - in both instances in platform 10.
Why do they need yellow? Are the 3 extremely bright lights on the front not noticeable enough? They really need yellow fronts if the dark blue front bit is that long. Very indistinct and undramatic.

In purely aesthetic terms, I quite like them as they are - much better visually than the 390s...I was thinking purely aesthetically
Its just that livery - the dark blue goes too far back, kind of hiding the front. Surely if you have a fast looking train you want the livery to show off the pointy front? In purely aesthetic terms, I quite like them as they are - much better visually than the 390s...
This is one of those things that's very subjective to an individual, though. If you showed 100 of us a picture of any particular train and asked what we thought of the appearance of it, you'd probably get 100 different answers.
Yes, they look short, stubby and cheap when parked alongside a Pendolino. The Pendolino definitely looks like the more long distance train alongside it. Not sure if that’s got anything to do with the livery though, or more the fact the passenger doors start so soon on the 805. Or the Metro style pocket doors. Its just that livery - the dark blue goes too far back, kind of hiding the front. They’re not cheap-looking at all in my opinion. They look so much better than a 390.Yes, they look short, stubby and cheap when parked alongside a Pendolino. Great! Hopefully driver training for the 805s has started already?805s commence passenger traffic from the start of the June timetable, initially it’ll be a mixed fleet of 221s and 805s covering the current 221 diagrams.
