Currently getting NR700 NSA on Elizabeth line for what it is worth, so technically it has 5G now

It would be cool if they could do the Hampstead Tunnel to complete data availability on the Mildmay line, although it’s probably not even part of this scheme not being a tube line.
Hampstead Tunnel is Network Rail infrastructure, isn't it? The TfL page for the 4g upgrade seems to suggest it's limited to TfL-owned infrastructure only. Crossrail and East London/Windrush line core sections are owned outright by TfL, not NR.
April 2025 map direct link showing Crossrail Tunnels now live for 4g/5g: https://content.tfl.gov.uk/below-ground-4g-5g-tube-map-april-2025.pdf

Does anyone know when the southern section of the Victoria Line, and the rest of the Northern Line will go live?
March 2025 Committee minutes: https://content.tfl.gov.uk/pic-20250305-part-1-agenda-pack-corrected-website.pdf have the latest update as just:
Telecommunications Commercial Programme | 70 per cent of below ground stations and 72 per cent of tunnels will have mobile live coverage (4G/5G) | End of 2025/26
I haven't been able to find much info on what order everything's happening from the public documents.

The Elizabeth line should have been done in parallel with its delayed opening so that I was live from the get go. It's annoying in the past 12 months very little has happened besides the focus on the Liz line and a tiny bit of the Northern line.

Is it me or reception very poor in the Elizabeth line Farrington to Whitechapel section in both directions? I'm on Lebara.
Even TfL Wifi doesn't work in that section. I'm able to connect to TfL Wifi, but no data is transmitted.

It used to work fine a couple of months ago.

The real priority was to get trains running on the line, mobile phone access is secondary to that, but will be fixed in due corse.

But presumably the two teams could have worked in parallel? Anyway, all would've, should've, could've at this stage.

I am (or was until yesterday) on Lebara, and the signal was always excellent on that section

Maybe but given the political pressure on opening for the passengers for whom it was built, any unnecessary distractions that did affect completion would just make it worse. Just imagine the headlines: Elizabeth Line delayed further to complete passenger mobile phone/wi-fi installation! I dread to think what the right wing tabloids would make of that.

Arsenal are upgrading the 5G signal in their stadium, but have said:
The club now promises a new 5G set-up that will be launched at the start of next season. It will apply to all providers. It might have been available already but one of the providers has been slow to respond and the club wants to roll it out so that all providers are covered.
Imagine the announcement - the Elizabeth Line has not been opened as one of the mobile phone providers has yet to plug their equipment in ...

I find Lebara is reliable for me across the 4G sections. The only line it doesn't work on is the Victoria line; I wonder when this will be rectified?

So, we are now heading for mid-May and have not had any update since before Christmas. This does seem a very long time. Anybody know of the sections that will imminently go live? Or has the roll out hit another snag?

I’ve started to have 4G between Kings Cross and Angel, as well as between Kings Cross and Highbury and Islington. Interestingly enough, the map has updated since December 2024 (Piccadilly Russell Square to Kings Cross was added, Victoria Euston to Kings Cross, Bakerloo Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus) BUT the updated version still says December 2024. I have to imagine updating the map is the least of their concerns so I’d take it with a pinch of salt

The file name includes April 2025 so it's fair to assume the map is being updated but they've just missed the date on the map itself, an easy enough thing to do. I agree though that the map is likely to be updated in 'chunks' rather than as a live rolling progress tracker.

Some reception appeared between Shepherds Bush and White City again. Will try to check the full tunnel again soon.

Just tried again today. The Lizzie EB section seemed ok. The WB section - very slow to non-existent between Stratford tunnel mouth and Farringdon.

I've noticed the EL in general is extremely slow. I suspect the "cells" are too far apart given the loadings on the line? I've only used it on O2 though.

I am fairly sure that I saw the same cell ID across at least 2 stations on EL when I looked, stuck on LTE800 or 2100 on O2. I did get NR700 recently though.

It's a real shame they can't get NR3500 on the EL as it's line that would definitely benefit the most from it given passenger volumes.

That was my experience of using O2 on the EL before I switched to 1pMobile, a MVNO that uses EE which is much faster.

O2's 700MHz 4G/5G (DSS) is dog slow and they've blanket covered huge parts of the east of England that looks great on coverage maps but really can't cope given how many O2 subscribers there are.

I find EE and Vodafone offers extremely fast data consistently on the EL and other lines where coverage has been added. There are many more bands in use, although I haven't seen an updated document to show what each network is using.

I have noticed that the latency on the EL can be terrible, but once it's working it's decent (on Smarty/Three)

I've done precisely the same switch, O2 to 1pM, and the difference is night and day, especially above ground but also on TfL 5G signals. Much like the cell towers above ground, I feel O2 simply have too many customers on not enough infrastructure.

Yes, the whole tunnel has good 5G signal on EE again.
Same on Vodafone; when I went into the tunnel mouth it only had two bars but worked fine. Ironic, because you can’t get any usable signal whatsoever in the above ground eastbound platform and I haven’t for about two years even though it shows that I do.

Looks like it has been switched off (again). No signal in either direction today between Shepherds Bush and White City.

Near a bunch of sheds that aren't 66s.
Seems like some progress has been made again after ages. There is seemingly signal on the Northern line now between Tooting Bec and South Wimbledon? This joins up with Balham to Kennington which has been live for a while. Interestingly there is no signal Tooting Bec to Balham, however.

Interesting to see some progress on the southern half of the Northern line as it was originally promised nearly a year ago.

Which network are you on?

Didn't notice this tonight on an EE MVNO. Was it switched off again?

The phone I was using at the time is on O2.

Funny enough this evening it wasn't working for me either, so have no idea if it has been turned off?
