I got the email today to say I passed the MMI! I haven't stopped pacing around the house in disbelief. Hoping it's not too long to wait for an email for the medical and provisional start date :D
Fantastic mate! Well done! :D

Very well done. Sorry to be a pest, but could you offer up some advice for Assessment 2? Very greatful for practice links and what kind of questions you got on the MMI and overall feel of the day. Im so nervous.

Well done. Can you point me in the direction of practicing the computer tests. Do you have a link or anything? I really appreciate any help.

Does anyone know if Scotrail will require a fresh PVG from disclosure Scotland ? I have one from November 2024 so it’s not even 6 months old for clearance on something I was doing at the time.

If it's for a driver role, it should only require a basic disclosure. You’ll need to apply for it yourself once you reach that stage in the process, and ScotRail will reimburse the cost after you start. You'll probably still need to get the basic disclosure even if you have evidence of the PVG :)

Think I was roughly 5 weeks between DMI- MMI Glasgow based.

But as you said every depot/people will be different and move at different speeds.

Just a question, how long has the majority of people waited between DMI and MMI?

I know this is maybe depot dependant but just curious ? i would be motherwell based.

I was 3 weeks between DMI and MMI, got my medical on Tuesday and a provisional start 16th October for induction. This is for Dumfries Depot.

Might not happen to everyone but prepare best you can from now. I only got two days notice of my assessments and mmi. Good luck.

Is anyone able to send me a DM with what the take home monthly salary looks like after pension, NI, tax, union fees etc please? I'm just waiting for a medical and have a mortgage renewal at the end of the year so just trying to be somewhat organised if I get a start date before the end of the year.

Also I'm not sure how the Sunday working etc effects it so if anyone can advise that would be awesome! :)

Thank you :)

I have my MMI coming up soon. Has anyone used the same examples in their MMI from their DMI? Or is it advisable to use different examples?
I would use different examples . I spoke about a particular topic in my DMI which the managers liked and were impressed with
I therefore thought I was safe to discuss this topic in my MMI. So I did and this was one of the questions I was unsuccessful on

You won't do Sunday or Rest Day working while training ....you might do it with your DI to enable you to take a Saturday off, but you won't work any more than a 4 day week. If you do work a rest day with your DI, you won't get payment for it, so re mortgage it'll just be your standard 4 day week, no overtime

Random Q, when do you order any uniforms etc? is this after your induction online period?

Secondly, regards free travel for yourselves and immediate family, is this only on scotrail services I would imagine?

Only 7 weeks to go, after 14 months!

That's answered one of my questions too, thanks!

To those who are travelling to training and staying in a hotel (jury's inn I think), when is all that taken care of and confirmed?

I got a call yesterday from my manager asking for details about the hotel stays as me and my wife are in the same course. Just wondering if we were happy to share rooms, and he said we will get an email in the next few days with all the details

An email today to say I'm on the reserve list for Inverness after stage 2 and MMI. I'm hoping the wait is not crazy long but I guess it depends on depot demands and vacancies. Good luck to everyone starting their inductions in July :D

Re contract, you'll probably receive it the day you're due to hand in your months notice, which is a bit stressful, that's what happened with me and others I know. I only know of one person who got hers 5 weeks before start date. And also, once you get your contract they're not the best with communication lol

That's actually probably not bad news as it could be down to a shortage of DIs. There's been talk of our DIs possibly having to double up trainees, which understandably they're not keen for....double length of time to pass out, and double the paperwork for the DIs. So they're maybe waiting until some DIs are freed up. Is it a 6 month reserve pool still?
