Hi All,

Is anyone able to compile a list of stations managed by LOROL (London Overground) which have Ticket on Departure (TOD) enabled TVMs?

I have tried numerous ways but none are very effective, I am aware of New Cross Gate.

TIA, TP

As far as I'm aware it's only New Cross Gate and all stations south of, so:

New Cross Gate
Crystal Palace
Anerley
West Croydon
Norwood Junction
Penge West
Sydenham
Forest Hill
Honor Oak Park
Brockley

I cannot vouch for the availability of ToD at any of these locations except for New Cross Gate and Anerley, where I have used this feature. The list on the National Rail website (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/stations_destinations/tods/) lists all these locations.

Ok, Cheers mojo

Do we know if all of these stations regularly use /TfL ticket stock in their TVMs?

On a related note, took a trip from Hatfield to York - with 2 advance singles SVG-York and v/v, and a plusbus ticket (plus a HAT-SVG return free thanks to redspottedhanky) all printed on the TfL stock - one bus driver looked slightly puzzled, but everyone accepted the tickets and I didn't get my ticket checked at all between Hatfield and York on the way (down...) despite being in EC's first class! And before you ask, 2x orange juice, multiple tea/coffee offers, croissant + toast + jam + butter. Yum :)

You edited that before I pressed quote! :P

I edited it twice! ;) once to clarify that I didn't get the advances from Hatfield due to the free RSH voucher, second to actually point out what was relevant as I forgot to actually put that it was on the TfL stock

This is for picking up tickets that people booked online. Some people like to confuse guards by picking up online tickets at New Cross Gate etc. so that they will be issued onto stock which has the TFL roundel in the background.

Not intentionally to confuse the gaurds ;) Its just to get a ticket issued on TfL Stock - TOD is in some ways better to do because it saves you having to buy tickets you won't use

But why would you be bothered about what stock it was on in the first place?

The only time it matters (in the sense of having a 'real' consequence) is if intending to use a 2 for 1 offer.

Some people like to collect the tickets they use, I record what stock they have been issued on. It is nice to have a bit of variety, a bit of the unusual (esp for people who don't live in London)

The tickets are valid with 2FOR1 as a photo of tickets issued on TFL stock can be found by clicking here and they comply with the 2FOR1 T&C's (credit to mojo for image)

Yes, it seems to be some sort of private password protected area. Oh well.

It could be because the link was to railforums.co.uk without the www. Edit the URL to insert a www and you should be able to see it.

I'm confused, what does Ticket On Departure mean in this context? I can buy a ticket *before* departure at any LO TVM...

It seems to be a fairly ill-conceived mainline railway term short for 'Collect Prepaid Ticket on Departure', as far as I can work out.

"Collect Prepaid Tickets" would be just as useable but more self explanatory IMHO.

Mind you, it was equally confusing that some TOCs referred to the process as 'FastTicket'. Because 'FastTicket' is also a brand name of a ticket machine...

Will TOD be extended to other ELL stations? It would be a useful feature surely its not hard to install.

Doubt it. These stations only retain ToD as they had this facility when Southern operated the stations.

Ha! I've picked up East Coast tickets from Forest Hill, complete with TfL roundel on the tickets. The EC guard didn't batter an eyelid!

I believe it's the same as the normal tickets with "TFL" appended.

RSP9599/TFL (from TVMs) I think there may be another /TFL for use in Ticket Offices.

I've tried finding a ticket office purchased ticket from Forest Hill for the RSP, but I think the ex Southern stations use the 9599/TfL tickets, complete with PlusBus promotions on the back.

Incidentally when Forest Hill has run out of TfL branded tickets, they'll use standard 9599's.
