    Calling any trainspotters

    Apologies if my previous post offended any birdwatchers, though I am strongly of the view that there's no shame in being associated with either spotters or twitchers. :p

    Bo'ness & Kinneil Railway Diesel Gala 2012

    I was there on Saturday! A fantastic selection of locos at work, I think. It was particularly nice to see 26038 making a rare appearance in Scotland. Great photographs, scotsman and 303032. :)

    Your local Railway station/facilities

    Burntisland on the Fife Circle Line - two platforms, footbridge, disability access to Platform 1 (alright if you want to go to Edinburgh, but not so great if you have any fancy ideas about coming home again), timetables on boards and screens, and some benches on each platform. It has a ticket...

    Impressive! I'll be sure to watch it when I have more spare time - with headphones and in full screen mode, of course. :p Thanks for linking, Statto. :)

    Calling any trainspotters

    Speaking for myself, I've always tended to be quite open about my interests in trainspotting and the railways. In fact, 'I like trains' tends to be one of the first pieces of information you'll get out of me after we get past the formalities of name, age, hometown and occupation. It attracts a...

    The Transport Game

    Having concluded that the transport links in the St. Keynes area aren't really suitable enough for us to be making long journeys at this time of night, we wander into the village to find somewhere to stay overnight. Come Sunday morning, we catch the Western Greyhound 573 service at 10:34...

    Competition 624 (Historical) :: Voting

    A great selection of photographs. In the end, though, I had to vote for No. 4 - the image quality is excellent, and it's lovely to see 'Wren' being celebrated and admired by the public on such a historic date.

    The Transport Game

    After stopping for a supper of some description, we walk to Trinity Street in St. Austell where we board the Western Greyhound 520 service to Truro at 22:11. We arrive in Truro Bus Station at 22:48 and partake in a successful search for overnight accommodation, thus bringing Friday to an end.

    Open floor, right? If I'm correct, here's my station of choice. Should be pretty easy!

    The Transport Game

    We make the journey from Fore Street to Taunton Station on foot, replenishing ourselves with some Walkers prawn cocktail-flavoured crisps after we've arrived. Upon deciding that it would be rather nice to see the Devon coast, we catch the 12:29 FGW service to Paignton, arriving there at 13:43.
