Sorry Paul - Buckingham slipped in before you were able to respond...

That posting has now been "struck through"......Most annoying tonight coming home at 2200 and seeing messages saying that the server was too busy..<(

Buckingham is also on the route of the X5 coach service.

Godmanchester is also on the line of the River Great Ouse.

Hull is a rare example of a settlement that has become better known by the latter part of its full name (Kingston-upon-Hull). This is also true of Great Yarmouth.

Steve Davis learned to play snooker in Romford, but has probably been seen most at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

Worsley has been nominated a World Heritage Site.
If approved, it will join the ranks with the likes of Pontcysyllte Aqueduct at Froncysyllte.

Horton in Ribblesdale is not too far away from another famous viaduct!

Eyam was also struck by plague in the 16c-17c.

Another X5 association (:p):

Madingley is also close to the X5 coach route; however, technically it isn't served - only the nearby Park & Ride is.
