So at Richmond station you cant buy the Oyster card and put the cash on it to make this return journey. That is slightly outrageous. They are trying to force you to use this rather than cash paper tickets in one breath, then not even issuing it in the next.

Surely a Train Driver would prefer them in paper form if the train broke down. The iPad can run out of battery or simply crash. A good old paper book cant

They are the same physical trains. They should scrap the branding, it just causes confusion when things like this happen. Or when a train goes from Edgware road to Barking via Mansion House for example

And in London its even more of a rip off, Richmond to Stratford via West Hampstead (direct train) around 15 miles, £13.40 for the cheapest return!

Is there anywhere else in the world where this would happen?? Only in London. It is a ridiculous situation. Just price them the same, or maybe 10 or 20p discount for using a bank card if thats what they want to do.
