    December 2022 Timetable Changes

I'm surprised they kept Sankey open to be honest. Seeing as WAW does have the better facilities in the end. But both stations suffer the same issue with services currently.

    December 2022 Timetable Changes

The location some what makes sense - It's right next to a newish estate and there is a lot of houses on both sides of the station. It's a lot better than Sanky for Penketh in terms of facilities. The times I have used it, there is always quite a few people there getting on/off the train. But...

Seems like Warrington West has been slapped down again. It's a such a shame such a brand new station like this has got so little services.

5G Boeing & Airbus concerns in USA

I don't believe in the UK at least that networks are using 3800 - 4200 MHz yet which is the range that may possible cause problems with systems in the aircraft.

Northern withdraws some CAF trains due to yaw bracket failures

I think that may be part of inspections they do - I have a photo from Feb 2020 and similar parts of the train have been cleaned to show numbers or whatever it is they display. I mean it does show that they are checking certain areas for sure though but I don't think it's unique to this specific...

    Smartcard Query

I'm not sure to be honest, I do wonder if its just a generic UI thing and all tickets (regardless of type) have the same buttons. I suppose in an ideal world you would have that button disabled for season tickets just so staff can't make an error.

    Smartcard Query

Update: I normally get the same staff member on the way home who scans/checks tickets at Piccadilly and today I managed to ask him. The problem is, when someones scanned my smart card. They are given two options OK and FINAL. Final being used for tickets that have finished their journey. So...

    Smartcard Query

I did my normal commute of Earlestown to Manchester. Card gets scanned at Manchester on the way in and then scanned again on the way out for my journey back to Earlestown. The issue with something not being finalised was on my journey back home when going through the manned area at Piccadilly...

    Smartcard Query

Hi, Just a quick one - Been using a Northern branded smartcard for sometime and haven’t had any issues with it. Got pulled by a person on the manned entrances at Man Piccadilly asking where I’ve come from this morning. I Explained it got scanned by staff this morning at Piccadilly this morning...

Long term social distancing: Impact on public life & public transport?

I believe the whole "if you can work from home, do so" still applies at the moment? I assume that would also be dropped at he same time they want more people to use public transport. I supposed we would have to wait for the 2m to either be dropped or reduced? As I can't see a lot of people...
