At around 1-ish today I saw 142029 (FGW livery) heading northbound just south of Kings Norton, presumably heading back to Northern?
A minute or so later at Northfield saw the NMT (43013+43014) heading north as well
Quite an unusual journey :)
Just looked at the RailUK championship and looks like I've won! :D
I'd have come 4th if it was decided on points
All of you up for next season? :)
Evening all,
66403 passed down (south) through Barnt Green at around 1630, looked like it was loaded scrap metal.
Not used to seeing DRS locos in my neck of the wood, so what was the origin/destination and is it a regular runner?
Cheers, Dave
evening all,
as I'm sure many of you know megabus are a no-thrills coach service, but because of their parent company (stagecoach) you can get train tickets on VT, SWT and EMT
So I've used megabus for the first time and bought a ticket and because of the no-thrills nature of the website...
170397-170399 were with CT, since then 170397 and 170398 now operate with XC and 170399 has been renumbered 170309 and now operates with FTPE, 170393-170396 are scotrail units.
There was a 170392, this was ordered for SWT but was mistakenly delivered in southern livery, it was repainted into...
The Hereford diagram (153+170) has recently been changed to 2x170, I know this as I see this train every weekday morning.
There's a 153+150 diagram on the snow hill lines if that helps? I don't have the diagram, but i think it leaves moor st going towards Worcester about 10 or 11?
A vegetarian who eats fish and other seafood is called a pescatarian.
Maybe a hypocritical meat eater myself, I'd be a bit squeamish about killing for my own food as i suspect many other meat eaters would :)
I can accept vegetarianism, but pescatarianism and veganism I can't understand at...
I would keep the alignment as planned but a station at Derby instead of a combined East Mids, but after the manchester/Leeds extensions I would build a line separating at around Aylesbury up to Milton Keynes, Northampton, Leicester, Nottingham and then have a triangular junction at around the...
I was under the impression that the loop would be at Alvechurch station because it's roughly half way between Barnt Green (5 mins) and Redditch (7 mins), and surely makes more sense than stopping a train between two stations?
A few rail history sites well worth taking a look at
http://www.joyce.whitchurch.btinternet.co.uk/maps.htm
shows maps of BR in 1961 & 1969, good for seeing the extent of the beeching cuts.
http://www.railaroundbirmingham.co.uk/index.php
cracking site for almost all disused (and used)...
Redditch is already 2tph, the proposal was for a loop at alvechurch so this could be increased to 3tph.
I think the Bromsgrove scheme has been scrapped however I'm not sure and have no sources to back that up.
There was an idea of extending the (now disused) MG rover factory spur to rubery...
Possibility of reinstating a service on the Walsall-Wolverhampton line?
Was the service stopped due to a poor passenger numbers, or stock? If the latter then we may see the service again because of the units released, a single 153 was operated before and one of these would be released? there's...
First of all welcome to the forum
as for your idea for a LM Preston service, I would extend the current Euston-Crewe via Stoke service to preston calling at the stations you have mentioned. Perhaps this would be easier from an operational point of view.
If i recall correctly VT...
