Did 313's ever work to Southampton during their early tenure on Southern?

Somewhat off topic, but my favourite obscure 313 working was Ore to Hastings (platform 1 Bay) shuttle. This ran weekday mornings as the first service from Victoria didn't have enough time to get to Ore.

Querying the occasional Bedford-Rainham (Kent) direct services?

The Saturday version is to get the unit out of Bedford Carriage Sidings. The Midweek versions run provide early semi-fast services to London before the usual Bedford to Three Bridges services start.

    Southern / GTR ballot

GTR guards had the right idea. Most of them will be sat in Depot all day being paid to not run a service. Station staff however will likely be wishing they were on strike.

Carto Metro London 4.1 map now online.

Not a big one, but the flyover from Heathrow branch to the relief lines (in up direction), is shown as purple when it should be purple and black like the rest of the branch (and relief lines)

Passenger rail usage October to December 2021

If I get time later I might do some quick analysis of Train km divided by passenger numbers. This would give an idea, albeit very loosely, whether services on average are busier now than pre-Covid for each TOC.

Being allowed to accept more than one route.

For non-stop services yes, however there have been occasions when drivers of non stop services have stopped and questioned the signaller here.
