What's going on between Baker St and Aldgate?

About 3 or 4 weeks ago, they announced that we should expect a week of delays, due to some signal work in this area. That's fine. But ever since then, there have been severe delays on this section of track almost every day.

    Met Line 2/10?

It's a good point, though, that it would be nice if these on-platform displays would show a "severe delays" message in the crawl. Is that hard to do because they are not connected to the right systems?

London Underground parallel fast and stopping sections

Actually this brings up a question in my mind: how was it originally decided that there would be exactly one interchange in the section between Baker Street and Wembley Park, and that it would be at Finchley Road? Why not one more, or even one less (i.e. skip Finchley Road too)?

    SSR resignalling

Thanks! Let me ask the very specific question that I’m personally interested in: How many trains are there from Hammersmith to Baker St (and beyond) now, and in the future? And when is the future expected to be?

    Leaning on the doors

I once heard a driver announce annoyedly that we should not yank things out of the door. He said that if something gets stuck in the doors, please leave it there until the doors open to the next station. But that seems awfully dangerous to me. Last month someone had their hood caught in the...

London Underground parallel fast and stopping sections

Because of the interchange with Thameslink and Overground?

    Crossrail: announcements at stations

On the Metropolitan it’s easy, because all the skipped stops are in two contiguous chunks. And that makes it really easy to understand on the in-car map. All you need to know is if it’s fast, semi-fast, or all stations. Will it be similar on the Elizabeth Line?

    2040 Tube Map

How sacrilegious is it to suggest that it's time to allow non-45-degree angles? That rule has its benefits, for sure, but it was created at a time when the system was vastly simpler. Perhaps it makes sense to selectively abandon this restriction now. A simple example that comes to mind: it...

London Underground lines sharing tracks with other services

London Underground lines sharing tracks with other services

I guess you can actually see it on the map. Chitern and Metropolitan are nearly touching from Harrow-on-the-Hill to Amersham. http://content.tfl.gov.uk/london-rail-and-tube-services-map.pdf There's a similar closeness between c2c and District/Hammersmith between Bow Road and Barking. Do they...

    Crossrail: announcements at stations

Will the Elizabeth Line be the first TfL service that skips stops?

London Underground lines sharing tracks with other services

Yes, sorry, I meant sharing with non-Underground services. Or really I guess what I'm interested in is, services that aren't on the TfL map. So that leaves the Amersham line. Where does it start sharing? I know that closer in to Marylebone, they have separate tracks.

London Underground lines sharing tracks with other services

Newbie question: Are there any London Underground lines that have to share tracks with other services? I would guess that some of the Metropolitan Line tracks are shared, right?

    Thameslink schedule question

So it seems like Thameslink Programme will not increase the frequency of trains at this station, except for an additional 2 tph at peak, is that right? Isn't that surprising?

    Thameslink schedule question

Apologies for a very specific question. I'm trying to figure out the frequency of trains from West Hampstead to central London (for example, King's Cross). How many TPH now, and how many when the Thameslink Programme is all done? I tried figuring it out myself from the schedule but I couldn't...
