    Northern Conductor Interview help.......

Doesn’t it say in the invite? We had to take a journey on a Northern train beforehand noting the good and bad. In the group assessment we had to discuss this and then come up with an idea to improve the service between us. At the end we had to present this to the observers. I didn’t get it...

    Northern Conductor Interview help.......

Which depot have you applied? I interviewed for the same role last year with Northern and there was an interview and group exercise but they were only about a half hour each. 4 hrs seems a bit much. The interview was straightforward, obvious questions for the role. Just think customer service...

Same here. Still sat at Assessment 2 Scheduled nearly 6 weeks after interview so I’ve all but given up hope on getting it now. Pretty frustrating though as they said we’d hear back either way within a few days.

My application for Inverness and Aberdeen which closed recently has turned to invite to assessment 2 pending so seems like they’re not hanging about on this one. The speed of it actually makes me worried it might be a mistake.

    Assessment day for conductor

Whereabouts are you interviewing for? If it's Northern you won't have any further assessments.

Northern Depot Drivers x 2, Blackburn

Ok thanks, thought that would be the case.

Northern Depot Drivers x 2, Blackburn

Thanks. Do you have to be a qualified driver to apply? It doesn’t say in the ad so I’m assuming not. Also, do Northern allow applications on the basis you will relocate if successful.

Hi, how long to the online assessment test results stand? I’m sure I read somewhere that it’s 12 months but I’ve applied for a grade 2 in York and been asked to complete the tests again despite passing them in May. Not particularly keen on doing them again as I felt I did well first time around...

    Edinburgh Trams Assessment Centre

Good morning I have an assessment centre next week which consists of a Trainability Test, Verbal Communication Exercise and Competency Based Interview. Not sure what to expect from the verbal communication exercise, has anyone applied for this position recently, a heads up of what to expect...

    A career as a signaller

Hi everyone! Feeling a bit despondent after getting another knock back today. That's now 4 occasions where its gone to 'application under consideration for assessment 2' and not got an interview out of it. I thought that if my application had been passed to the hiring manager that I must stand...

    A career as a signaller

Just looking at current vacancies and 5 out of 6 are temporary contracts of 8 or 12 months which I assume are due to planned closures. Trying to decide if its worth applying for these positions as I have a solid job plus I'd have to relocate if I was lucky enough to be successful. I'd have no...

    A career as a signaller

Wow, well done that's a lot of applications, good luck with it in the future. I had an interview for Wylam a few weeks ago, which was actually my first signaller application but it didn't work out. Pretty gutted as it's nearby to where I live and I really want a change. I've now applied for...
