    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

GWR Press Release: The day is almost here! Saturday 18 May will see the last scheduled High Speed Trains in service now that our entire fleet of Intercity Express Trains are in operation. We want to make sure this day is recorded and want you to be a part of that as well. Post your selfies...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

I hope that they're worth the wait - not that they were ever going to be much of a surprise! It's been great fun and an honour diagramming the GWR HSTs in their final months of service. I can't believe the interest surrounding the diagrams! We've tried to get as much variety as we could out of...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

If anyone is curious as to how the diagrams are worked out, for this weekend we wanted to send a set to Paignton and Carmarthen as those are the only two "regular" destinations we weren't able to get sets to on the final day of booked services.

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

If I didn't know better, I'd say that you just sit there waiting for me to send the diagrams out!

That turnaround isn't long enough for an HSS service forming another HSS service. You'll see the amended times on RTT soon. 1A15 arrives 13:13 and 1C16 departs 13:33. 20 minutes is the minimum amount of time for a Bristol turnaround.

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Diagrams for the 11th and 12th May still being finalised, but expect to see a final chance for 10:03 PAD > PNZ, 15:52 PNZ > PAD on the Saturday and hopefully a Carmarthen on the Sunday.

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

For whatever reason, you ask?! It'd be very boring if we sent out the same diagrams, every week! Unfortunately it hasn't quite gone to plan this evening, but the intention of putting a set on to SPM tonight is to balance the sets and work 1A04 tomorrow. No, this won't be the last HST from Frome.

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

There's some complete and utter wibble going on here, as others have said - can we keep it to diagrams please?! People keep on talking about "booked diagrams" and referring to the frequently requested diagrams thread. It's very important to note that whilst SX diagrams are 'fairly' fixed, we're...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

HST diagrams through to the 18th May are very nearly finalised - just a couple of dates where the STP diagrams haven't been nailed down. As of this post, 11th April, no route across the GWR has seen its last 2+8 HST yet, with the exception of Newquay and Pembroke Dock which sadly won't see...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Expect the unexpected with the weekend diagrams. We're still several weeks away from "lasts" over all routes. Due to the nature of engineering works going on and the ongoing IET / HST balancing requirements the diagrams are unlikely to look anything like the LTP for the next couple of months...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Not HST related, but for interest: GWR cannot run more 80X units on the WoE diverts. 800s (5s or 9s) cannot be diagrammed to start or finish anywhere other than North Pole, Stoke Gifford, Maliphant or a small handful of agreed outstanding locations - none of which are west of Exeter. 802 5s in...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

    Note that this coming SX, starting Monday 10th December, the HST diagrams are as per FGW_DID's post on page 14, with the following exceptions: IW 10 (MO): 1P07: HFD 04.47 > PAD 07.52. 1K04: PAD 08.06 > NBY 09.08. 1K11: NBY 09.23 > PAD 10.21. 1B27: PAD 11.15 > CDF 13.22. 1L65: CDF 13.56 > PAD...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

If you're desperate for an HST on the inward working as well as the return, the 15:51 Worcester Foregate Street to Paddington IS an HST on Monday. It arrives London Paddington at 18:00 and then forms the 18:22 back again! Depends if you wanted to spend any time in London though - or not!

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Mikeastons - Whilst your return journey will be an HST, I'm sorry to say that the outward journey is booked a 9 car IET. At least you'll have an HST to look forward to on the return! :)

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

As alluded to on the previous page, lots of unusual diagrams this week due to the North Cots block. Most of the North Cots services are five car 800s, a couple of peak workings are nine car 800s and there's a few Turbos in the mix too. The displacement of a few HSTs away from the North Cots and...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Booked diagrams torn up and started from scratch pretty much, due to Moreton-in-Marsh terminations and Filton Bank block. "Unusual" as in, several services on the Bristol / Swansea corridor that have been rock solid IET in previous weeks become HST for the day on Saturday. Obviously that means...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Watch out for the 07:45, 08:45, 09:45 and 10:45 Paddington to Swansea services being HST this coming Saturday, amongst other unusual occurrences. Moreton-in-Marsh terminations have provided lots of opportunities for "interesting" diagrams, due to the lack of Cotswold runs and the requirement to...

    Remaining GWR HST Diagrams

Never be surprised! There's still time for lots of interesting workings. In answer to other posts, it's unlikely that there will be any HSTs turning round at Moreton-in-Marsh SX during the North Cots engineering works.
