No, it’s the rules. Ticketing and revenue book 7, page 16. Bank cards Single bank cards that are handed in as lost property must be destroyed and details of the card type and card holder’s name recorded in the Station Log Book. It is no longer necessary to contact the card issuer or send...

Debit card handed to station staff - next steps of the staff?

On TFL, we cut it in half after two hours and put it in the bin, if unclaimed. If it’s within a wallet/purse, the same but keep the card within the wallet and process the whole thing as lost property. That’s the rules.

    Unacceptable whistleblowing at Blackfriars

An amplified whistle sounds very unpleasant. My ears wouldn’t like that. Definitely follow it up as others have said.

    Inside King's Cross: CH5

Was watchable enough. I did think the depot manager swearing frequently was excessive, you think they'd watch their tongue when in front of the camera.

    BBC Trainspotting Live

Just binge watched all three episodes. Enjoyable enough. Tim Dunn was excellent, as were the others. Not sure about Peter Snow. This was a general interest programme about trains/railways, not an encyclopaedic one. The latest BBC4 'Slow tv' show, following the ride on the canal boat.

    Suspicious packages.

On the tube we use the HOT procedure. Hidden, is it obviously suspicious, and is it typical of what's found left lying round. No, no and yes in this example.

    Oyster problems

All oyster readers were affected, tube, bus and Mainline. Problem was resolved at 0935. People who entered system whilst it failed and wanted to leave when it was fixed were let out or if they touched out accidentally, staff adjusted their oyster, as I did for a few people.

    Train fire at Marylebone (11/12/15)

The smoke was drifting towards the tube station and kept setting their fire panel off, so the tube station was closed shortly after the incident happened until the end of traffic.

    HST West Midlands

I remember reading the HSTs only do the Nottingham trips. Do the 125s ever go to Sheffield?

Delay on West Coast Main Line

Late night services use it, the 2245 Wolverhampton to Euston. I suspect that's to keep train crews familiar with it.
