82143 went to Loughborough on Friday. 82112 returned the other way yesterday, now in AGA colours :) Both runs were hauled by a 37 as far as I'm aware

On this line, can we not get a bog standard 125mph speed between Ipswich and Norwich? The line is straight and on a flat so can't see the barrier and cannot imagine it costs the world for 30-40 miles of 125mph track with 110mph thereafter as per the original plan. In France, even between Paris and Le Havre they are speeding up shorter sections for 125mph running. On such a major commuter line, why are we not aiming to the same standard?!

All those millions to upgrade the AHBs & OHL has got to come from somewhere. I agree it would be great but this country works on cost ratio for everything.

There is massive opposition to Network Rail closing just a handful of level crossings in Suffolk so I don't think there is much chance of being able to get to required conditions for 125mph line speed. I think even 110mph is going to be a challenge.

Are we ( not us here but them! ) being over cautious
does it make much difference if a train hits someone or something at 100mph or 110/125
we should just go for it like the French would

317 506/507 both out in the new AGA livery! Looking good.

317501 as well?

Funny how manny times in recent years the 317/5s have been repainted compared to the anglia 170s some of which haven't been touched since they were built

First 315 in tfl/crossrail livery (excluding branding) went into service today. Slight change also to the interior, the old pink decor is now a pale green.

Wow! It's over 3 months until they launch. The service will be branded TfL Rail. :)

as the 315s are in the middle of a reprint program they must have decided to now paint in the new livery, which makes sense.

Ended up on this today.

Looks nice from the outside! Grab handles have been re-covered in blue, and as said, the pink has been replaced by a greeny beige colour. Personally I don't think the green colour is that nice, but other than that it all looked good.

I think I read that the seat covers will also be replaced when tfl take over?

Saw at Ilford today half a 315 with the new blue line at the bottom ready for crossrail

Just saw 837 at Liv St in the TFL colours, not a fan myself really, the snot coloured vestibule isn't nice. I'll post the pics I took when I get in later ^_^

Apparently according to east anglia rail blog class 153s starting with 114 are having an interior repaint and new tables

That has to be the vilest colour for a vestibule in the history of man kind! How to make a relatively old unit really look its age? - paint it in the colours that you could be forgiven for thinking it came out from the factory in!

I don't understand why they only repainted the vestibule. The rest of the train is as it was inside =/

I actually prefer that to the pink. If they keep them tidy they'll look pretty respectable like that. The almost 70s like murky green shade is curious but I'm not too averse to it.

Perhaps but without wishing to start any anti-AGA vibe, the biggest thing making them ugly at the moment is the grime, especially the stains leading down from the pantograph well. When clean, the old units are not going to seem quite so unattractive.
