Why don't you buy this ticket at the same time as buying another ticket? You can buy a ticket from anywhere to anywhere within the next 3 months so that shouldn't be a problem?Just tried to buy this ticket on East Coast's website and it say's there's a minimum purchase cost of 50p.![]()

Yes, National Rail Enquiries does not sell any tickets. It re-directs you to the website of the TOC who sets the fare for the ticket in question.nationalrail.co.uk says that is the fare and sends you off to the Chiltern Website when you choose to buy.

I made my purchase using a RSH e-voucher, has anyone made a successful purchase using a debit/credit card?
Just bought a 10p return on RSH with a Mastercard, worked perfectly for me
Slightly off topic, but am I right in thinking that they've taken away the ability to choose an alternative ticket merchant? The last couple of times I tried there didn't seem to be any option.

regulated fares can be increased by a set percentage each year and some can be increased by more than that increase if others are adjusted by a smaller percentage. surely the toc will weigh up whether increasing a fare by a huge percentage is worthwhile - so increasing this relatively unknown fare needs to make business sense so they're not shooting themselves in the foot with lower fares on tickets that actually get bought?
No, that has not happened.
Instead of clicking "Buy" in the bottom-right-hand corner of the "Choose train times & fares" page, you must click "View Summary" under "Buy cheapest for £--.--" in the top-right-hand corner. This takes you to a summary page, where in the bottom-right-hand corner you can click "Buy from another ticket provider." Once you have selected the ticket provider you want, click "Buy now" and NRE sends you off to the website.
It's not very clear, I know!![]()
Thanks. That has to be one of the least intuitive examples of navigation on the internet!
