Potentially discriminatory on grounds of nationality and/or religion!
But it's nothing to do with either. People are being remembered for giving their lives. You don't need to be from the same country, and certainly not the same faith, to respect that.

I also suspect that in a lot of other countries it would not be seen as any issue of discrimination. It would just be part of the normal courtesies and expectations of the society you're living in/visiting. It does seem to be the English in particular (far more so than even the Scots or the Welsh) who have become paranoid about discrimination or about expressing any kind of distinctive cultural expectations. For goodness' sake, just have some self-confidence about your own country in the same way as just about any other part of the world!

one should remember that many Commonwealth countries supported us, and are amouingst the fallen, watch the service from the Centoaph - Canadians, Australians, Sikhs and Gurkas, for example

As far as I am concerned, nothing to do with religion, but a spontaneous observasnce of 2 minutes silence on the day and time ceasefire for WW1 was called and the fallen from subsequent armed conflicts to the present day remembered as well, including civilian and animals casulties (many thousands of horses were shipped across the channel to aid WW1, for example)
